Applied Numerical Methods with MATLAB for Engineers and Scientists (plus Solutions)

Steven Chapra
MgH 2006
ISBN: 007313290X
608 pages PDF 25,8 MB + 1,3 MB = 27.1 MB

Still brief - but with the chapters that you wanted - Steven Chapra's new second edition is written for engineers and scientists who want to learn numerical problem solving. This text focuses on problem-solving (applications) rather than theory, using MATLAB, and is intended for Numerical Methods users; hence theory is included only to inform key concepts. The new second edition feature new material such as Numerical Differentiation and ODE's: Boundary-Value Problems.

Concrete Society TR 55 Design Guidance for Strengthening Concrete Structures using Fibre Composite Materials. 1st Edition

This Report provides authoritative guidance for structural designers on strengthening concrete buildings and bridges by bonding fibre composite to the surface. This relatively new technique is proving to be much quicker and more cost-effective than established techniques using steel plates, but guidance has been lacking until now. The Report explains the advantages and disadvantages of the technique and gives examples of applications. It explains the design approach in detail and discusses workmanship, installation, inspection and maintenance. The second edition of this Report reflects the fact that materials and techniques have developed rapidly along with their range of applications. Significant changes covered in the new edition include modification of the treatment of partial safety factors in the design process, and design of members in shear, to provide a less empirical approach, amongst others.

EN 10079:2007 Definition of Steel Products

EN 10079:2007 Definition of Steel Products

There are various classification systems existing in Europe but this European Standard only deals with
definitions for steel products manufactured by or used in the steel industry or by its customers. For example,
Annex B provides guidance on the definition systems used in the former European Coal and Steel Community
(ECSC) Treaty as well as the Statistical office of the European Communities and of the Harmonised
Commodity Description and Coding System.
The entries that are presented in this European Standard have been ordered systematically, and have been
grouped by steel products according to:
— shape and dimensions e.g. flat products, long products, heavy sections;
— appearance and surface condition e.g. coated flat products, bright products.
This European Standard also contains an alphabetical index, which has been included at the end of this
document.
