Practical Hydraulics,2 ed
Melvyn Kay,
Taylor & Francis | 2008 | ISBN: 0415351146 | 253 pages | PDF | 4,7 MB

Hydraulics has a reputation for being a complex, even intimidating, discipline. Put simply, hydraulics is the study of how water and similar fluids behave and can be harnessed for practical use. It is one of the fundamental scientific and engineering subjects and many professions demand a working knowledge of its basic concepts, yet most hydraulics textbooks are aimed at readers with a strong engineering or mathematical background. "Practical Hydraulics" approaches the subject from basic principles and demonstrates how these are applied in practice. It is clearly written and includes many illustrations and examples. It will appeal to a wide range of professionals and students needing an introduction to the subject, from farmers irrigating crops to fire crews putting out fires with high-pressure water hoses. However hydraulics is not just about water. Many other fluids behave in the same way and so affect a wide range of people from doctors, needing to know how blood flows in veins, to car designers, wanting to save fuel by reducing drag.

In the last few years, remarkable technological advances have been achieved in bridge engineering technology. These cover a wide spectrum of issues, ranging from design, maintenance, and rehabilitation methodologies to material and monitoring innovations. The Fourth New York City Bridge Conference was distinguished for its global impact. This book contains a selected number of papers that were presented at the conference. These papers are valuable contributions to the body of knowledge in bridge engineering technology. Along with the contributions by prominent bridge engineering professionals from the United States, this excellent collection of papers will assure the archival quality of this book.

Old, worthless, spam and junk posts
Posted by: Grunf - 03-10-2010, 10:06 AM - Forum: Archive - Replies (2)

Dear Admin, Moderators, VIPs and all others,

I have suggestion that we open at the bottom of main window of the forum (just bellow "Various forum") new section called something like: "Old, worthless, spam and junk posts" or "Unvaluabel, old, not replyed posts" or something like that - you can think maybe better name for this section of the forum...

I'm suggesting this because I saw this section on other forums and I think it is good to have this kind of section here as well. Staff of these other forums sending there posts like "Thank you", "Wow" or posts with expired links, insulting posts,... all in all this section of the forum has a function of "Recycle Bin". After some time - this section is cleaned completely... and we all have clean forum.

Again, that's only my suggestion/ opinion.

Best regards and I thank you for your understanding
G

p.s. Today I've seen thread with posted link that is not working and with 5 replyes like: "can upload again, plz " . Thread is closed and I don't see it's purpose.

  AutoCAD R14 for 64-bit Windows
Posted by: ynopum - 03-09-2010, 05:14 PM - Forum: Autodesk Products - Replies (1)

AutoCAD R14 for 64-bit Windows

This is working setup of AutoCAD R14 for Vista x64 (probably all 64-bit Windows OS).

AutoCAD R14 was one of the best drafting applications as of year 1998. It is small, fast, reliable (of course, as much as Autodesk product can be), loads itself intp the memory 10 times faster than the newer versions, and imports better DXF and WMF files, made by 3-rd party programs.

Because the original installer of AutoCAD R14 was made with 16-bit InstallShield application, it is not possible to setup the official program on 64-bit Microsoft Windows OS. Nevertheless the AutoCAD R14 itself is 32-bit application, so it can work almost flawlessly even on Vista x64.

The version presented here overcomes this problem and could be installed on Vista x64.
Autodesk doesn't support nor sell this program anymore

THIS IS IMPORTANT:
There is a need for a registry file to be started. The present setup tries to make this by itself, so you should agree for the registry settings to be imported. If this doesn't work, then you should import these settings by yourself. These are in the file named: Vista64.reg
