Material Property Characterization of Ultra-High Performance Concrete
Advances in the knowledge and understanding of the behaviors of concrete on the microstructural level have led to the development of the next generation of concrete, namely ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC). This report characterizes the material behaviors of one UHPC in terms of accepted concrete testing methodologies. The Federal Highway
Administration (FHWA) has been investigating the optimal use of UHPC in highway bridges, and this report presents results from the first phase of this research program. Of primary importance, the results contained herein provide a starting point for bridge owners interested in advancing the state of bridge engineering through the use of extremely high strength and high durability concretes. This report presents both what can be achieved today through the use of a commercially available concrete as well as the types of advancements that can be achieved by reevaluating the traditional components and proportions normally present in cementitious structural materials.

TAAD.Pro V8i SELECTseries 1 introduces several new enhancements in the analysis and design engine and enhancements to the RAM Connection and Piping Modes. This includes a nuclear design engine to the AISC N690:1984 code, additional UK and French National Annexes for the Eurocode 3 steel design module an updated Russian concrete design module and steel section databases and a Chinese Seismic Forces engine. The RAM Connection Mode has been redesigned to better operate with RAM Connection and use the RAM Connection v5.5 engine. The Piping mode has been enhanced with a new connection wizard to connect AutoPIPE models and thus rapidly transfer forces and complete designs.

i wanted to share my design calculations for bridge false work design.
i still have doubts on my calculations especially on the design for steel sheet piles (SSP) to be used as steel deck flooring.
can the SSP Type-II really support the loads acting above on it?
are my design calculations correct?
i want to have your opinions on this matter.
please do help me.
thanx in advance.
P.S. i dont know how to post using 'postgen'.
I wanted to post it as a screenshot and attached it on this thread. that is why i have it posted this way.my apologies.

Product Description:
This book is devoted to bridges that are built by incremental launching methods, using prestressed composite materials. It integrates the static, aesthetic, and economic aspects of construction techniques for building these state-of-the-art structures. Bridge launching is a comprehensive handbook, offering explanations of both the theoretical and technological aspects of the construction process. Both beam bridges and arch bridges are thoroughly analysed, and special theories aimed at optimising static aspects, as well as local phenomena, are developed. Construction assembly and pre-stressing methods for bridge segments and launching techniques are described together with assessment of load conditions, design assumptions by means of field monitoring and data recording. Presented within this essential handbook are sections on prestressed concrete bridges include cast-in-situ and segmental precast structures, composite bridges include I-girder open sections and box girders, and prestressed composite bridges includes stiffened and corrugated-plate webs. Design and technological requirements of launch equipment are discussed for the individual bridge types to provide more detail for the reader. This invaluable book is a must-buy for all those involved in bridge construction and innovative building techniques, such as bridge owners, design offices, bridge consultants, and construction equipment suppliers.

In a unitary way, this monograph deals with a wide range of subjects related to the mechanics of sea waves. The book highlights recent theoretical results on the dynamics of random wind-generated waves, on long-term wave statistics, and on beach planform evolution. A fresh approach is given to more traditional concepts. For example, new evidence from a recent series of small-scale field experiments is used to introduce some crucial topics like wave forces. Also, the book gives some worked examples for the design of offshore or coastal structures.
An exciting subject dealt with in the book is the quasi-deterministic mechanics of three-dimensional wave groups in sea storms, and the loads exerted by these wave groups on offshore structures.
The text is intended for researchers and graduate students in ocean engineering, but may also be understood by undergraduates. The more complex concepts are explained with examples or more extensive case studies.

I am seeking Geocentrix REWARD users for sheet pile wall design to advise me of the following:-
1) Can each sheet pile wall be modelled with 2 borehole, say Borehole1 at the retain earth side and Borehole 2 at excavation side?
2) I can model sheet pile with water table on both sides without seepage but having problem to use the "Linear Seepage Water Table" to model sheet pile wall with seepage at bottom tip of the wall. The water level at the excavation side is above excavation level and the water table at the retain earth side is much higher than water level at the excavation side.
Hi everyone!
I have a problem to with Etab section classification,
I use
code: BS5950-2000
steel section: Chanel (widthxdeptxthick)(50x100x3mm)
Yeild strength: fy= 290MPa
According to BS5950 table-11
d/t<40*(270/fy)^0.5
d/t = 31.33
40*(270/fy)^0.5 = 38.95
so it is ok
But in Etab if we model the section as above it said section classification 4.
