Bentley Rail Overhead Line is an advanced computer-aided drafting and design application for the layout of
structures and wire runs used in the overhead line equipment of electrified railways and features a simplified
user interface. The command set is optimized for ease of learning and ease of use.



Bentley Rail Overhead Line is a database-driven application which stores
all the required project information in a project-oriented database. The
interface (when designing an overhead line equipment system) is
supported by the application's dialog boxes as well as by the CAD
platform's dialog and the design file.
The system is based on three parts:

Design file

Project database
The system reads and writes data to a locally connected database that
contains the data for a single project. The contents of that project
database can be uploaded to a centralized database. A project in the
central database (main storage area) can then be downloaded for further
maintenance into the locally connected database.
