Bentley LEAP Bridge is a software program that is used to define and manage the bridge geometry, design, analysis and rating for the entire bridge. It allows the users to access LEAP component design programs to design various components of the bridge, such as girder and pier elements. It can also be used to define the bridge geometry in detail, and perform geometric checks via GEOMATH. The component design programs that can be accessed via LEAP Bridge are:
GEOMATH  Bridge Geometry Definition and Layout.
CONSPAN  Precast Bridge Superstructure Definition, Analysis, Design and Rating.
CONBOX  Cast-in-Place Reinforced and Post-Tensioned Superstructure Analysis, Design and Rating for Slab and Box Girder bridges.
RC-PIER  Concrete Pier/Abutment Analysis and Design, including Cap, Column and Footing Design
LEAP Bridge software can display the bridge geometry in 3-D, generate dimensioned 2-D views, and allow the user to examine various aspects of the bridge, manage the engineering work and interaction among various component programs, and obtain geometry, and technical engineering reports in HTML format.

The book Earthquake Engineering - From Engineering Seismology to Optimal Seismic Design of Engineering Structures contains fifteen chapters written by researchers and experts in the fields of earthquake and structural engineering.
It deals with seismicity, seismic hazard assessment and system oriented emergency response for abrupt earthquake disaster, the nature and the components of strong ground motions and several other interesting topics, such as dam-induced earthquakes, seismic stability of slopes and landslides.
The book also tackles the dynamic response of underground pipes to blast loads, the optimal seismic design of RC multi-storey buildings, the finite-element analysis of cable-stayed bridges under strong ground motions and the acute psychiatric trauma intervention due to earthquakes

Understanding Architecture, 2nd

Author(s)/Editor(s): Robert McCarter, Juhani Pallasma | Size: 176 MB | Format: PDF | Quality: Scanner | Publisher: Phaidon Press | Year: 2012 | pages: 448 | ISBN: 0714848093

Intended both as an introductory text for students and professionals in the field as well as an accessible read for the general public, Primer on Architecture (working title) addresses the basic principles of architecture and uncovers its ongoing influence in contemporary culture. The volume is organized in a series of chapters based on key architectural themes--space, time, matter, gravity, light, silence, dwelling, ritual, memory, landscape, and place--with an introductory essay for each chapter that includes a wide variety of historical examples from around the world followed by more in depth analyses of key buildings that further exemplify the theme of a particular chapter. By combining a broad historical sweep with a jargon-free architectural study of space and the direct experience of architecture, this volume will be a unique introduction to architecture as a timeless and enduring art.
