I would like to request anyone who has copies of the following training manuals for CSI products. As a beginner this will help a lot to just not me but to all beginners out there to study Etabs and Sap softwares.

- ETABS Steel Training Manual
- ETABS Concrete Training Manual
- SAP2000 Training Manual
- ETABS Steel: From Start to Finish Training Manual
- ETABS Concrete: From Start to Finish Training Manual

Any contributions will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

  [split] LUSAS FEA V14.3
Posted by: Alan G - 03-21-2010, 05:06 PM - Forum: Archive Problem - No Replies

Having problems installing this software...

Getting an error message when trying to perform the final analysis saying that the client id is not valid... which I suspect is something to do with the crack?

Quote:1. Install w/ serial 012345678901234567890123A

2. Copy *.dll to "C:\Lusas140\Programs" folder,
and delete lsapiw32.dll file in <windir> where ever found.

A = LUSAS Analyst
B = LUSAS Bridge
C = LUSAS Composite
D = LUSAS Civil & Structural
Y = LUSAS Academic

Can anybody shine a light on this or if they have managed to install it correctly?

  Capture and Reuse of Project Knowledge in Construction

Capture and Reuse of Project Knowledge in Construction

[Image: info.png]
Hai Chen Tan, Chimay J. Anumba, Patricia M. Carrillo, Dino Bouchlaghem, John Kamara, Chika Udeaja,
ISBN: 1405198893, 1444315455
208 pages

An organisation’s competitive advantage lies in the knowledge of its employees and the organisation’s ability to harness that knowledge to meet business objectives. Knowledge management is recognised in the construction industry as a potential tool for providing organisational benefits, but for a number of reasons – particularly the project based nature of construction, where teams are transient, multidisciplinary and often from different organisations – implementation has been only marginally successful.

Capture and Reuse of Project Knowledge in Construction describes a methodology for the 'live' capture of reusable project knowledge that reflects both the organisational and human dimensions of knowledge capture and reuse, as well as exploiting the benefits of technology. This methodology was developed in response to the shortcomings of current practices in managing project knowledge, the benefits offered by capturing and sharing knowledge immediately after it is generated, and the organisational benefit of reusing knowledge within a project based environment.

Structures in Architecture - Excerpts - G.G. Schierle

[Image: info.png]
ISBN : 0181965097
Pages : 300
Pdf file size : 9.93 Mb

This is a secured pdf file. Structures not only support gravity and other loads, but are essential to define form and space. To design structures in synergy with form and space requires creativity and an informed intuition of structural principles. The objective of this book is to introduce the principles as foundation of creative design and demonstrate successful application on many case studies from around the world. Richly illustrated, the book clarifies complex concepts without calculus yet also provides a more profound understanding for readers with an advanced background in mathematics. The book also includes structural details in wood, steel, masonry, concrete, and fabric to facilitate design of structures that are effective and elegant. Many graphs streamline complex tasks like column buckling or design for wind and seismic forces. The graphs also visualize critical issues and correlate US with metric SI units of measurement. These features make the book useful as reference book for professional architects and civil engineers as well as a text book for architectural and engineering education.

Hi all members,

I'm reading about confinement in concrete.
And I don't understand about Ke in Mander Model

If anyone has this paper, please share to me.
Thanks a lot.

  Effective yield and tensile stress values in SAP2000
Posted by: tarado - 03-20-2010, 04:27 PM - Forum: Archive Problem - Replies (1)

In SAP2000 when a steel material is defined, in "other properties for steel materials", SAP2000 requires minimum yield and tensile stress (ok) and "effective" values for yield and tensile stress, someone could explain me what are this "effective" values.

Thanks in advance.

Structural Concrete 'Finite-element analysis for limit-state design'

Product Description:
A review of available experimental data on the behaviour of concrete at both the material and structural levels reveals the unavoidable development of triaxial stress conditions prior to failure which dictate the collapse and ductility of structural concrete members; moreover - and in contrast with widely-accepted tenets - it can be shown that the post peak-stress behaviour of concrete as a material is realistically described by a complete and immediate loss of load-carrying capacity. Therefore, rational analysis and design of concrete components in accordance with the currently-prevailing limit-state philosophy requires the use of triaxial material data consistent with the notion of a fully-brittle material, and such an approach is implemented in this book by outlining a finite-element for the prediction of the strength, deformation, and cracking patterns of arbitrary structural forms encompassing plain, reinforced, and prestressed concrete members." Structural concrete: Finite-Element Analysis for Limit-State Design" contains numerous worked examples which show both the unifying generality of the proposed approach and the reliability of the ensuing computer package for which the sole input is the specified cylinder strength of concrete and the yield stress of steel. This book not only offers a better phenomenological understanding of structural concrete behaviour but also illustrates, by means of suitable examples, the type of revision required for improving design methods in terms of both safety and economy.

  MSC Patran neutral file format
Posted by: elbarto_87 - 03-20-2010, 10:41 AM - Forum: Archive Problem - No Replies

Hi,

Does anybody have any experience with the MSC Patran neutral file format. I would like to write a program to take the output from my frame analysis program and convert it to a *.out file to import into Patran. My problem is that there a no resources out there at all for working with this format.

Thanks,
elbarto_87
