This introductory book covers the entire construction industry as a whole — with specific details, information, and directions — as well as the impact and basic inner working of the industry in each project. It addresses three specific industry aspects: the “players” the “processes,” and “practices” — all spelled out in a way that promotes readers' understanding. An effective overview of the basic essence of construction, its impact on society, and the magnificent work it produces, helps demonstrates the worldwide impact of the industry. Chapter topics include The construction industry at large, the “players” in construction, the sequence of a project, and communications and documentation. Appendices cover: a narrative of a project sequence; the concept and application of building codes and other construction regulations; sample specification (on regulations); a project checklist; costing; trade associations, standards-generating organizations, governing authorities; and leading firms in the industry. For those involved in architecture and the various engineering disciplines connected with project design and construction — as well as in related businesses — who need help understanding the construction process.

InfraWorks 360 is a product of the Autodesk company for the design and modeling of urban infrastructure. Using this program, it is possible for engineers to build three-dimensional models of roads, highways, commuter routes, offshore channels, suburban train infrastructure, and finally, the output of these models can be used to further work on their details. Other specialized CAD software has been moved, for example, AutoCAD software can be used to work on the details of the two-dimensional map of this infrastructure, or you can use the powerful 3ds Max software to build animation simulations. In this software, the model is designed to first open the Model Builder tool, and design the environment using vector and raster data as well as data extracted from other similar resources.

The Behaviour and Design of Steel-Structures to BS5950 trahair bradford nethercot 3rd edition 2001

Author(s)/Editor(s): Mark A Bradford, David Nethercot, Nick Trahair | Size: 86 MB | Format: PDF | Quality: Scanner | Publisher: CRC Press | Year: 2002 | pages: 474 | ISBN: 0203180569, 9780203180563

The third edition of this successful textbook is concerned specifically with the design of steel structures to the British Standard BS 5950. Thoroughly revised and updated in accordance with the latest 2000 amendment to Part 1 of the standard, it discusses all aspects of the behaviour of steel structures, and criteria used in their design.
With copious worked examples, The Behaviour and Design of Steel Structures to BS 5950 is an ideal course textbook for senior undergraduate students, and will also provide a useful reference source for the practising engineer.
About the author (2002)
David Nethercot is head of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Imperial College, London. He is the chairman, and only full-time academic member, of the main BSI Committee responsible for all parts of BS5950. He has extensive experience of research, teaching and specialist advisory work in structural steelwork, and is on the editorial boards of a number of steelwork journals.

Design of Steel Structures - Gaylord & Stallmeyer
Posted by: sabooryan - 05-16-2018, 09:02 AM - Forum: Steel - No Replies

DESIGN OF STEEL STRUCTURES 3rd edition

Author(s)/Editor(s): Edwin H., Jr. Gaylord - charles gaylord - james stallmeyer | Size: 60 MB | Format: PDF | Quality: Scanner | Publisher: McGraw-Hill | Year: 1992 | pages: 812 | ISBN: 0070230544 - 9780070230545

This text can be used for courses in steel structures and steel design at the senior/first year graduate level. The book teaches students how to design steel structures and their connections, with primary respect to bridges and buildings. 32 design problems portray structural members as components of real-world structures rather than as isolated elements and help students to prepare flow diagrams and computer programs. There is a discussion of the design calculations for the truss spans and composite-beam approach spans of a highway bridge in Maryland. The authors discuss both the theoretical treatment of every topic along with the important applications and specifications, including the AISC, the AASHTO, and the AREA specifications. The text covers both the Allowable Stress Design (ASD) and the Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) procedures. The procedures are covered separately so that one may be skipped if desired. A solutions manual is available.

  Meshfree Approximation Methods with MATLAB

Meshfree Approximation Methods with MATLAB

Author(s)/Editor(s): Gregory E Fasshauer | Size: 16 MB | Format: PDF | Quality: Scanner | Publisher: World SCientific | Year: 2007 | pages: 518 | ISBN: 9789812706331, 981270633X, 9789812706348, 9812706348

Meshfree approximation methods are a relatively new area of research, and there are only a few books covering it at present. Whereas other works focus almost entirely on theoretical aspects or applications in the engineering field, this book provides the salient theoretical results needed for a basic understanding of meshfree approximation methods.

The emphasis here is on a hands-on approach that includes MATLAB routines for all basic operations. Meshfree approximation methods, such as radial basis function and moving least squares method, are discussed from a scattered data approximation and partial differential equations point of view. A good balance is supplied between the necessary theory and implementation in terms of many MATLAB programs, with examples and applications to illustrate key points. Used as class notes for graduate courses at Northwestern University, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Vanderbilt University, this book will appeal to both mathematics and engineering graduate students.
