I think the "None-Engineering Software" Forum would be more appropriate as "Non-Engineering Software". Can members who are well conversant with English to comment? Thanks!

  Cementitious Grout Mixer
Posted by: visu_tce - 10-13-2009, 04:15 AM - Forum: Free Discussion - Replies (1)

Could anyone advice me on the suitable cementitious Grout Mixer product? I mean the best product that could be purchased in India or imported? The requirement is as follows :
1. It should have a Bulk silo attached to store the reasonable quantity.
2. It should be mobile in nature as we may need to shift it for some other projects.

  Modern Physics for Engineers

Modern Physics for Engineers

info:
Modern Physics for Engineers
Publisher: Wiley | ISBN: 0471330442 | edition 1999 | PDF | 400 pages | 22.15 MB

Over the last few years there have been several important changes in the undergraduate curricula in both Engineering and Physics departments. In engineering schools there is an increased emphasis on design type courses which squeeze the time students have for fundamental courses. In physics departments there is an increased need to make a stronger connection between the material studied and modern technological applications. This book is motivated by these changes.

  Cement Chemistry, Second edition
Posted by: rendel_© - 10-13-2009, 02:11 AM - Forum: General Books - Replies (1)

Cement Chemistry, Second edition

info:

H. F. W., Taylor, "Cement Chemistry, Second edition"
Thomas Telford Ltd | 1997 | ISBN: 0727725920 | 480 pages | PDF | 50,5 MB

H F W Taylor was for many years Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at he University of Aberdeen, Scotland. Since 1948, his main research interest has been the chemistry of cement. His early work laid the foundations of our understanding of the structure at the nanometre level of C-S-H, the principal product formed when cement is mixed with water, and the one mainly reponsible for its hardening. Subsequent studies took him into many additional aspects of the chemistry and materials science of cement and concrete. His work has been recognized by Fellowships and by other honours and awards from many scientific societies in the UK, USA and elsewhere. This second edition of Cement chemistry addresses the chemistry and materials science of the principal silicate and aluminate cements used in building and Civil engineering. Emphasis throughout is on the underlying science. The book deals more specifically with the chemistry of Portland cement manufacture and the nature of the resulting product, the processes that occur when this product is mixed with water, the nature of the hardened material, the chemistry of other types of hydraulic cement, and chemical and microstructural aspects of concrete, including processes that affect its durability. Since the first edition of this book was published in 1990, research throughout the world has greatly augmented our knowledge in all of hese areas. The present edition has been updated and revised to take account of these advances. The reader will acquire a solid understanding of the subject and will be better equipped to deal with the problems and pitfalls that can arise in engineering practice as a result of inadequate understanding of the relevant chemistry. It will serve both as an introduction to those entering the subject for the first time and as a guide to the latest developments for those already experienced in the field.

Computational Structural Engineering
Proceedings of the International Symposium on Computational Structural Engineering,
held in Shanghai, China, June 2224, 2009 By Yong Yuan, Junzhi Cui, Herbert A. Mang
Publisher: Springer 2009-07-09
1308 Pages
ISBN: 9048128218
PDF 23 MB

This volume presents selected edited papers given at the Symposium on Computational Structure Engineering (CSE 09) co-organized by Tongji University and Vienna University of Technology, held in Shanghai, 22-24 June, 2009.

Owing to great progress in computing technology, in computer as well as in programming technology, computation has become one of the most powerful tools for researchers and practicing engineers. It has led to tremendous achievements in computer-based structural engineering and there is evidence that this tendency will be accelerated.

In recent years, concepts of simulation of structural behavior, virtual reality, super-computing, and intelligence approaches reinforced the impact on processes of design, construction, and maintenance of structures. CSE 09 provided a forum for scientists, developers, and engineers to review novel research findings, to assess the suitability of new models, and to evaluate the robustness of advanced computational methods for investigation of the life-cycle of a structure.

The contributions of CSE 09 are presented in this book. It aims at providing a forum for presentation and discussion of state-of-the-art development in scientific computing applied to engineering sciences. Equal emphasis is given to basic methodologies, scientific development and engineering applications.
