Fluid Dynamics: Theoretical and Computational Approaches, Second Edition
Z.U.A. Warsi,
CRC | 1998 | ISBN: 0849324076 | 752 pages | PDF | 23,3 MB

Fluid Dynamics presents the basic development of equations in coordinate-invariant form and their use in solving problems in laminar and turbulent flows. This book presents a thorough examination of fluid dynamics by combining fundamental principles with systematic mathematical, and computational approaches. Chapters 1 and 2 pre the requisites of theoretical fluid dynamics - free from any coordinate system and covering all basic equations.Chapter 3 examines the Navier-Stokes equations and Euler's equations in steady and non-steady curvilinear coordinates. It also discusses the essential aspects of vorticity and stream functions.Chapter 4 describes inviscid incomible and comible flows, supplementing the treatment of the boundary layer theory.Chapter 5 treats the exact solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations, classical and modern boundary layer theory, and incomible and comible forms of the Navier-Stokes formulations. It also discusses the hyperbolic system of partial differential equations and introduces the idea of characteristics through solutions of the Burger's and related equations.In Fluid Dynamics, the author also:oDescribes how to transform the complete Navier-Stokes system of equations to general steady and non-steady coordinatesoCovers the method of vector and tensor analysisoExplores laminar flow theoryoPres a systematic approach to turbulence theory, starting with an introduction to the linear stability theoryoExplains the theory of homogeneous and isotropic turbulence as well as the turbulent boundary layersoLays a solid foundation for the theory of turbulence modeling for incomible and comible flowsoEmphasizes learning the techniques for using the derived results in solving physical flow problems on high-speed computersoDiscusses various numerical techniques for solving boundary layer and Navier-Stokes equationsoDemonstrates the existence of characteristics in the solution of hyberbolic system of equations through a series of simple examplesFluid Dynamics enables students and professionals to grasp and assimilate a constructive framework for modern fluid dynamics, pring a set of algorithmic tools to create useful physical and computational results.

Hi all,

I have two questions.

1-how we model concrete cracking in stadd. i know we can do this in etabs.
2-how to model diaphragm action in stadd. we can do this for master slave joint. but if there is 50 storey, it takes a lot of time to do for one by one storey .
thanks.

* Publisher: Geological Society of London
* Number Of Pages: 240
* Publication Date: 1993-03

Owing to the maturity of exploration in the North Sea Basin, reservoirgeology will increasingly focus on the exploitation of smaller andtechnically more demanding hydrocarbon accumulations and theneed to maximize reserves from the established producing fields.More refined geological reservoir interpretation and modelling aretherefore required.

This book details new methods, and the improved use of existingmethods in such areas as sequence stratigraphy, petrography,sedimentology, inorganic geochemistry, production logging, quantitativeimage analysis of pore structure, the dipmeter tool and permeabilityimaging; and the integration of data from a variety of thesesources, including outcrop-derived data.
