Bentley LEAP Bridge Suite v8i (SELECT series 1) 09.00.03.02 (Trial)
Bentley LEAP® Bridge is a fully integrated AASHTO LRFD and LFD (Standard) bridge Geometry, Substructure, and Superstructure analysis, design and rating software for Precast and Cast-in-Place (CIP) post-tensioned or reinforced concrete box girder or slab bridges built on false work.
The LEAP Bridge software program is used to define and manage the bridge geometry, design, analysis and rating for the entire bridge. It allows users to access LEAP component design programs to design various components of the bridge, such as girder and pier elements. It can also be used to define the bridge geometry detail, and perform geometric checks via GEOMATH. The component design programs that can be accessed via LEAP Bridge are:
GEOMATH:
Bridge Geometry Definition and Layout
CONSPAN:
Precast Bridge Superstructure Definition, Analysis, Design and Rating
CONBOX:
Cast-in-Place Reinforced and Post-Tensioned Superstructure Analysis, Design and Rating for Slab and Box Girder bridges
RC-PIER:
Concrete Pier Analysis and Design, including Cap, Column and Footing Design

Many types of engineering structures exhibit nonlinear behavior under real operating conditions. Sometimes the unpredicted nonlinear behavior of a system results in catastrophic failure. In civil engineering, grandstands at sporting events and concerts may be prone to nonlinear oscillations due to looseness of joints, friction, and crowd movements. In the aerospace industry, nonlinear motions may have serious implications for fatigue life. In the automotive industry, examples include brake sequel and undesirable engine mounting oscillations. Engineers of all types encounter nonlinear behavior in a system at some time in their working lives and should be able to recognize it.Nonlinearity in Structural Dynamics: Detection, Identification and Modeling provides a background in techniques that can be applied to situations in which nonlinearity plays, or is suspected to play, a role in the dynamic structural behavior. Striking a good balance between theory and application, the book covers both analytical and experimental methods and describes their application to real structures. The authors include numerous examples of nonlinearity in real engineering systems. The book is essential reading for engineers and scientists in the fields of structural dynamics and nonlinearity as well as a useful supplement for graduate and senior undergraduate students in engineering courses.

This book is a collection of 31 papers presented at the International Workshop on Modern Trends in Geomechanics, held on 27–29 June 2005 in Vienna.
This workshop was run under the motto to bring together different schools of thought in geomechanics research. The workshop was attended by about 50 participants from 15 countries. Besides the presentations, the workshop also offered welcoming occasions for stimulating discussions.
The contributions in this book cover a wide range of topics from applied mathematics to geoengineering applications, reflecting the breadth and depth of geomechanics research. The articles are peer reviewed and arranged in six parts: general aspects, constitutive modelling, micromechanics, analytical and numerical methods, granular materials and engineering applications.

Book info: Water purification is the process of removing undesirable chemical and biological contaminants from raw water. The goal is to produce water fit for a specific purpose. Most water is purified for human consumption (drinking water) but water purification may also be designed for a variety of other purposes, including to meet the requirements of medical, pharmacology, chemical and industrial applications. In general, the methods used include physical process such as filtration and sedimentation, biological processes such as slow sand filters or activated sludge, chemical process such as flocculation and chlorination and the use of electromagnetic radiation such as ultraviolet light. The purification process of water may reduce the concentration of particulate matter including suspended particles, parasites, bacteria, algae, viruses, fungi; and a range of dissolved and particulate material derived from the minerals that water may have made contacted after falling as rain. This new book gathers the latest research from around the globe in this field.
