Dear friends,

if someone of you have one of these standards or both, please share them.

1. BS EN 14651:2005+A1:2007Test method for metallic fibre concrete. Measuring the flexural tensile strength (limit of proportionality (LOP), residual);

2. BS EN 14721:2005+A1:2007 Test method for metallic fibre concrete. Measuring the fibre content in fresh and hardened concrete.

Thanks in advance

SCI P254: Steel package Water and Waste Water Treatment Units

Author: N R Baddoo, A R Biddle | Size: 4.1 MB | Format: PDF | Publisher: SCI | Year: 2000 | pages: 62 | ISBN: 1859421156

[Image: 75315921220568146875.jpg]

[Image: info.png]

This publication addresses the use of steel and stainless steel package units for water and waste water treatment. A package treatment unit is a module or series of linked modules that is constructed in a factory and subsequently transported to site for installation. Package units can be assembled rapidly on site with the minimum of site works.
A general assessment of the benefits of package construction is given. The suitability of carbon steel and stainless steel as materials for the container, processing plant and pipework is discussed in the context of their material properties and durability. Advice is given on good practice in design, fabrication, installation and maintenance. A reference list of the principal British and European standards relating to steel is given in an Appendix. A series of case studies of recent projects is included to demonstrate the range of current applications of package units for different types of treatment process, both on a large and small scale.

SCI P102: Connections between steel and other materials

Author: R G Ogden, R Henley | Size: 2.7 MB | Format: PDF | Publisher: SCI | Year: 1996 | pages: 96 | ISBN: 1859420044

[Image: 88186809026003942116.jpg]

[Image: info.png]

Many building and refurbishment projects require structural connections between steelwork and other materials, such as concrete or masonry. This publication examines the design and construction issues implicit in these connections, and presents a range of details. Each detail is appraised in terms of its structural performance and construction qualities, and an indication is given of where the detail may appropriately be used. There are many factors that influence the form of connection details, and these vary considerably from project to project. Details are therefore presented as schematic arrangements that may be adapted to suit the requirements of individual projects. Where structural steelwork is used in conjunction with other structural materials, various connection details may be required. These include:
- e steel column connections to foundations and floor slabs;
- e steel beam connections to concrete core walls;
- e steel beam connections to concrete columns;
- e steel beam connections to masonry walls and beams.
Connection details should recognise the physical characteristics of both steelwork and the material to which the steelwork is connected. Details should generally seek to optimise structural requirements, buildability and cost. Where architectural or other criteria demand unique or specialised details beyond the scope of this publication, similar design principles will apply. However, there will usually be an additional aesthetic requirement.
Section 1 of this publication sets out performance requirements for connection between steel and other materials. Section 2 presents a range of schematic details.

Reinforced Concrete Based on BS 8110-1997

[Image: info.png]
Dear Civileans,

I wish someone would help me with a book explaining reinforced concrete design based on BS 8110-1997, I've searched our beloved Forum but all I found were books that explain the 1985 edition of BS 8110.

Regards,
Husam.
