If all English letters are already assigned to devices and there is no free one left then you can still create virtual devices but without letters. With DAEMON Tools Pro it is possible!
But if your drive doesn't have a letter you won't see it in My Computer. How to get mounted image data on such drive then? DAEMON Tools Pro lets you assign folder to virtual drive and then access your virtual disc data opening this assigned folder in My Computer.
Do you have collection of different disc images types where each has some specificity? Can't you protect some images due to their format restrictions? Do you want all images in catalog to have a single format? -- Convert your image files to Media Descriptor format (*.mds/*.mdf files). It is DAEMON Tools native format and supports all DT Pro functionality. Feel free to use variety of tools and possibilities with MDS/MDF format for disc images.

Key features:

• Functionality

The Elastic Beam Calculations Handbook presents a mathematically rigorous treatment of beams based on elastic theory written at a technical level that is as simple as can be achieved without losing clarity. Practitioners will quickly learn the essentials to apply elastic beam calculations in their work. This much-needed comprehensive reference covers elastic beams with varying material and section properties, support conditions, span lengths, and other important geometric features. It provides simple and logical presentations of elastic beam problems by addressing each as corollaries of a more general theorem, consequently resulting in numerical work that can be planned and executed with ease, clarity, and optimal results. Structural engineers concerned directly with structural analysis of elastic beam problems will find many examples of useful and neat solutions and the rationale for their validity.

KEY FEATURES

--Offers a clear and systematic presentation of hundreds of problems and topics with detailed explanations of the methods and rationale used to obtain solutions
-- Promotes critical thinking through rigorous mathematical deduction by delineation of the interconnectedness among various topics
-- Demonstrates the physical significance of formulae, reveals pertinent parameters, and delineates their effects on the solutions
-- Provides the analytical competence of critical thinking in the formulation of elastic beam problems and closed form solutions
-- Illustrates the usual assumptions, principles, methods and procedures within the framework of linear elastic behavior of materials that are either explicitly cited or implicitly utilized

Move limits definition in structural optimization with sequential linear programming. Part I: Optimization algorithm

Author: Luciano Lamberti & Carmine Pappalettere | Size: 329 KB | Format: PDF | Quality: Unspecified | Publisher: Computers and Structures (81) | Year: 2003 | pages: 197-213

A variety of numerical methods have been proposed in literature in purpose to deal with the complexity and nonlinearity of structural optimization problems. In practical design, sequential linear programming (SLP) is very popular because of its inherent simplicity and because linear solvers (e.g. Simplex) are easily available. However, SLP performance is sensitive to the definition of proper move limits for the design variables which task itself often involves considerable heuristics. This research presents a new SLP algorithm (LESLP––linearization error sequential linear programming) that implements an advanced technique for defining the move limits. The LESLP algorithm is formulated so to overcome the traditional limitations of the SLP method. The new algorithm is successfully tested in weight minimization problems of truss structures with up to hundreds of design variables and thousands of constraints: sizing and configuration problems are considered. Optimization problems of non-truss structures are also presented.

This renowned text has provided many thousands of students with an easily accessible introduction to the wide ranging subject area of materials engineering and manufacturing processes for over thirty years.

Avoiding the excessive technical jargon and mathematical complexity so often found in textbooks for this subject, and retaining the practical down-to-earth approach for which this book is noted, Materials for Engineers and Technicians is now thoroughly updated and fully in line with current syllabus requirements.

Offering a comprehensive guide to materials used by engineers, their applications and selection in a single volume, the fourth edition focuses on applications and selection - reflecting the increased emphasis on this aspect of materials engineering now seen within current vocational and university courses. Materials properties and relevance to particular uses are addressed in detail from the outset, with all subsequent chapters linking back to these essential concepts. Detailed discussion of examples of materials, and additional applications of processes have been incorporated throughout the text, with expanded sections addressing the causes of failure as this relates to material selection. Updated sections in the fourth edition provide a wider ranging discussion of titanium, printed-circuit-board materials and production, silicon chip production, and the applications and forms of modern composite materials.

This new edition has been matched closely to the relevant units of the BTEC Higher National Engineering programme, as well as catering fully for the requirements of a Level 3 audience. Students of BTEC Nationals will find that the new edition structure covers all the essential topics required for their courses in the early chapters (chapters 1 - 8). Those students following higher level qualifications (HNC / D Engineering, and first year undergraduate Engineering Materials modules within Mechanical, Manufacturing Systems and also Electrical & Electronic Engineering degree courses) will find additional more advanced topics are addressed in the second half of the book.

In addition to meeting the requirements of vocational and undergraduate engineering syllabuses, this text will also prove a valuable desktop reference for professional engineers working in product design, who require a quick source of information on materials and manufacturing processes.

* Established and renowned text, now completely restructured to match current BTEC National and Higher National syllabus specifications
* New edition provides greater emphasis on materials selection, with a new chapter outlining material properties and their relevance to a variety of uses, reflecting current FE and HE course requirements
* Avoids excessive technical jargon and mathematical complexity common in textbooks for this subject
