  OUR OWN STORAGE
Posted by: aslam - 05-14-2009, 08:32 AM - Forum: Archive - Replies (1)

Dear Admin,

I think we must have our own permanent storage where our user can upload or download usefull stuff.
However, deleting / removing files from our storage may only be done by management of our site.

Many times we upload the stuff to rapidshare, filefactory etc and files are removed after some time or after some trial. This leads to reuploading, time wasting.

Thanx

Hydraulics of dams & river structures

Publisher: Farhad Yazdandoost, Jalal Attari
Date : 2004

Format : PDF
Quality : Good

Info:
Hydraulic structures and river works are essential for the development of countries. This is more significant in the millennium development goals owing to scarcity of water for the ever-increasing population of the world. The objective of this conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners to exchange views and experiences on hydraulics of structures associated with rivers and dams. It is further hoped and anticipated that this would lead to a state of the art of the current practice to improve design of hydraulicstructures especially in developing countries. Not overlooking the ever growing need for more enhanced and profound non-structural approaches in water resources management issues, it is deliberated that through such a conference the wealth of knowledge and experience in the field would be shared and the structural aspect of water resources management is given its deserved share in sustainable development of infra-structure. In this respect it is hoped that series of specialised conferences of this nature will continue to be held in future. Hydraulic researchers had been leading air-water flow studies until the mid-1950s. Since progresses have been dominated by multiphase flow experts despite the relevance of “white water” phenomena to hydraulic engineering. In this lecture the writer reviews the basic mechanisms of air entrainment: singular aeration and interfacial entrainment. The relevant instrumentation and data processing technique are detailed. Later recent progresses in unsteady flow measurements and in seawater are discussed.

Railroad Vehicle Dynamics: A Computational Approach

info:
Railroad vehicle dynamics: a computational approach
Ahmed A. Shabana, Khaled E. Zaazaa, Hiroyuki Sugiyama
CRC Press, 2007
ISBN 1420045814, 9781420045819

The methods of computational mechanics have been used extensively in modeling many physical systems. The use of multibody-system techniques, in particular, has been applied successfully in the study of various, fundamentally different applications. Railroad Vehicle Dynamics: A Computational Approach presents a computational multibody-system approach that can be used to develop complex models of railroad vehicle systems. The book examines several computational multibody-system formulations and discusses their computer implementation. The computational algorithms based on these general formulations can be used to develop general- and special-purpose railroad vehicle computer programs for use in the analysis of railroad vehicle systems, including the study of derailment and accident scenarios, design issues, and performance evaluation. The authors focus on the development of fully nonlinear formulations, supported by an explanation of the limitations of the linearized formulations that are frequently used in the analysis of railroad vehicle systems. The chapters of the book are organized to guide readers from basic concepts and definitions through a final understanding of the utility of fully nonlinear multibody- system formulations in the analysis of railroad vehicle systems. Railroad Vehicle Dynamics: A Computational Approach is a valuable reference for researchers and practicing engineers who commonly use general-purpose, multibody-system computer programs in the analysis, design, and performance evaluation of railroad vehicle systems

Hello admin, i would like to suggest something that i have seen in other forums related to structural engineering and as here in forum we have very skilled profesionals we can open threads to discuss certain topics of engineers exchange points of view, experience stuff like that. i think it may be a great a idea. People like me undergraduate can appreciate this alot.

it's just an idea to improve this great site. ty.
