Complex Variable Methods in Plane Elasticity

Author: Jian-Ke Lu | Size: 72 MB | Format: PDF | Quality: Unspecified | Publisher: World Scientfic | Year: 1995 | pages: 230 | ISBN: 9810220936

This text deals systematically with the mathematical theory of plane elasto-statics by using complex variable methods, together with many results originated by the author. The problems considered are reduced to integral equations, Fredholem or singular, which are proved to be uniquely solvable. Particular attention is paid to the subjects of crack problems in the quite general case, especially those of composite media, which are solved by a unified method. The methods used in this book are constructive so that they may be used in practice.

Satellite Rainfall Applications for Surface Hydrology
Posted by: cace-01 - 02-20-2013, 07:11 PM - Forum: Water & Hydraulic Engineering - No Replies

Satellite Rainfall Applications for Surface Hydrology

Author: Mekonnen Gebremichael, Faisal Hossain | Size: 15 MB | Format: PDF | Quality: Unspecified | Publisher: Springer | Year: 2009 | pages: 340 | ISBN: 9048129141

While there are a growing number of high-resolution space-based systems for measuring precipitation, instances of the use of these products for surface hydrology are rare. This book, which covers both scientific and practical matters, aims to change that. With contributions from a panel of researchers from a wide range of fields, the chapters focus on evaluating the potential, utility and application of high resolution satellite precipitation products in relation to surface hydrology. Focusing on the way the algorithms for the precipitation products evolved, the accuracy assessment of those products in different regions of the world, and the application of the precipitation products to various decision support systems, the book is at the interface between satellite rainfall and surface hydrologic applications. It dwells on issues that are of concern at hydrologic scales of application. In doing so, it provides very useful information to practitioners, researchers and graduate students who need to explore the latest on satellite precipitation products for various hydrological purposes. Crucially, the book provides examples of real-world applications of satellite rainfall products in operational hydrology and real-time decision-making. This enables readers to understand the potential of satellite rainfall products for practical applications ranging from agricultural/crop monitoring to flood and landslide detection in developing countries.

Computational Fluid Dynamics Review 2010

Author: M. M. Hafez, K. Oshima, D. Kwak | Size: 116 MB | Format: PDF | Quality: Unspecified | Publisher: World Scientific | Year: 2010 | pages: 628 | ISBN: 981431336X

This volume contains 25 review articles by experts which provide up-to-date information about the recent progress in computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Due to the multidisciplinary nature of CFD, it is difficult to keep up with all the important developments in related areas. CFD Review 2010 would therefore be useful to researchers by covering the state-of-the-art in this fast-developing field.

  【Suggestion】 Edit Time Limit
Posted by: netsonicyxf - 02-20-2013, 02:51 AM - Forum: Archive - Replies (1)

After users post their threads, they only have limited time to edit them.

Why not allow user to edit them anytime they want?

What's the purpose to limit the edit time?

E.g. I reply this thread

Code:

Now I can't edit my posts because the edit time limited, although I want to .

Steel beams with large web openings of various shapes and sizes - by Chung,Liu,Ko

Steel beams with large web openings of various shapes and sizes

Author: Chung, K. F., Liu, C, H. & Ko, A. C. H. | Size: 625 KB | Format: PDF | Quality: Original preprint
| Publisher: Journal of Constructional Research 59 | Year: 2003 | pages: 24

Vierendeel mechanism is always critical in steel beams with single large web openings.
While the depth of web openings controls both the shear and the flexural failures of the perfor-ated sections, it is the length of the web openings that governs the ‘Vierendeel’ mechanism which in turn depends on the local shear and moment apacities of the tee sections above and below the web opening. A comprehensive finite element investigation on steel beams with web openings of various shapes and sizes was reported in a complementary paper, and the primary structural characteristics of those steel beams were presented in detail.

If we do download files from free hosting servers, using the free account, often less impatient because of the convoluted procedure and limited bandwidth.
There are several ways to resolve it.
(1). Buy a premium account in corresponding server hosting-4share, depositfiles, rapidshare, etc. as well as facilities are either premium-(paying).
(2). Buy a premium account on the leech situs2 provides facilities-leeching zevera.com, cyberleech.com, etc.-(paying).
(3). using a leeching tools (free).

Well I wish to share information about Leeching tools. By using a Leeching tools, you can download files from Hosting server, using a free account but with premium facilities. Cutesmile
And that you can do with the free (without spending money), it only takes a bit of setting and a few tricks.

These Tips I got from sites that often provide software for free.
I've tried these tips and some of them work ...
And most importantly, all for free .... Cutesmile

Seismic Design of Buckling-Restrained Braced Frames

Seismic Design of Buckling-Restrained Braced Frames

Author: Walterio A. López; Rafel Sabelli | Size: 587 KB | Format: PDF | Quality: Unspecified | Publisher: Steel Tips | Year: 2004

Buckling-Restrained Braced Frames (BRBFs) are a new steel seismic-load-resisting system that has found use in the western United States because of its efficiency and its promise of seismic performance far superior to that of conventional braced frames. The system is not yet addressed in the 2005 edition of the AISC Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings, but nevertheless a set of design provisions has been developed by AISC in conjunction with the Structural Engineer’s Association of California.
This report illustrates the seismic design of buckling-restrained braced frames; they are defined, and the provisions governingtheir design and required testing are explained. A summary ofselected Buckling-Restrained Brace (BRB) testing performed to date is provided. Compliance with design requirements is explained through detailed component design of two typical BRBF configurations and development of testing protocols. A discussion of gusset-plate design and its influence on acceptable frame behavior is provided.
