Hello felows,

In your opinion, between this software (Autodesk Advanced Concrete 2015) and Autocad structural detailing, which do you think is the best for 3D modeling concrete and reinforcemnt drawings, and also for measure the quantities of concrete and rebar?

Thanks.

Dear Colleagues,

Need few papers related to pile foundations in case some of you can share

1. Vertical Vibration of Pile Groups by Mohamed Sheta, (Research Asst., Faculty of Engrg. Sci., Univ. of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada) and Milos Novak, M.ASCE, (Prof., Faculty of Engrg. Sci., Univ. of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada), Journal of the Geotechnical Engineering Division, Vol. 108, No. 4, April 1982, pp. 570-590

2. Flexibility coefficients and Interaction Factors for Pile Group Analysis By El Sharnouby, H. And Novak M. (1986). Canadian Geotechnical Journal, Vol. 23, No. 4, pp. 441-450.

I need advice on Structural Softwares - Where shall i post?
Posted by: Μηχανικος - 04-04-2015, 10:55 PM - Forum: Free Discussion - Replies (2)

Hello everyone,

As you can see i am new to these forums, I need specific advice on structural analysis and design softwares but i do not know where to post my thread. Can someone tell me which is the most appropriate section to post such a thread so that my post doesn't get deleted?

So that you may properly direct me I want to know which softwares can model, analyse and design monolithic components such as a retaining wall with embedded column and a beam with a slab.

Thank you

Self-sensing concrete in smart structures

Concrete is the second most used building material in the world after water. The problem is that over time the material becomes weaker. As a response, researchers and designers are developing self-sensing concrete which not only increases longevity but also the strength of the material. Self-Sensing Concrete in Smart Structures provides researchers and designers with a guide to the composition, sensing mechanism, measurement, and sensing properties of self-healing concrete along with their structural applications

Provides a systematic discussion of the structure of intrinsic self-sensing concreteCompositions of intrinsic self-sensing concrete and processing of intrinsic self-sensing concreteExplains the sensing mechanism, measurement, and sensing properties of intrinsic self-sensing concrete

Wavelet Analysis in Civil Engineering

Author: Pranesh Chatterjee | Size: 7 MB | Format: PDF | Quality: Original preprint | Publisher: CRC Press | Year: 2015 | pages: 218 | ISBN: 148221055X , ISBN13: 9781482210552

The principles of wavelets can be applied to a range of problems in civil engineering structures, such as earthquake induced vibration analysis, bridge vibrations, and damage identification. This book is particularly useful for graduate students and researchers in vibration analysis, especially those dealing with random vibrations. The book explains the importance of wavelets in terms of ground motion models with non-stationarities. It includes the example of a tank to develop the problem and the model, and explores several case studies.
