PDF 18,8 MB

Prestressed concrete decks are commonly used for bridges with spans between 25m and 450m and provide economic, durable and aesthetic solutions in most situations where bridges are needed. Concrete remains the most common material for bridge construction around the world, and prestressed concrete is frequently the material of choice. Extensively illustrated throughout, this invaluable book brings together all aspects of designing prestressed concrete bridge decks into one comprehensive volume. The book clearly explains the principles behind both the design and construction of prestressed concrete bridges, illustrating the interaction between the two. It covers all the different types of deck arrangement and the construction techniques used, ranging from in-situ slabs and precast beams; segmental construction and launched bridges; and cable-stayed structures. Included throughout the book are many examples of the different types of prestressed concrete decks used, with the design aspects of each discussed along with the general analysis and design process. Detailed descriptions of the prestressing components and systems used are also included. Prestressed concrete bridges is an essential reference book for both the experienced engineer and graduate who want to learn more about the subject.

“ On their first encounter with statics and dynamics, students often have difficulty with three particular aspects of the subject. These are (1) visualization of the physical properties involved, (2) expression of the latter in mathematical terms and (3) manipulation of the mathematics in order to solve the various problems that arise. The aim of this book is to teach the basics of statics and dynamics in a way which will help them to overcome these difficulties. It will be a valuable supplement for A-level mathematics in schools and further education colleges and for first year university courses in mathematics and engineering.

Design Science Math Type 6.5
The Professional version of Equation Editor

Info:

MathType is a powerful interactive equation editor for Windows and Macintosh that lets you create mathematical notation for word processing, web pages, desktop publishing, presentations, and for TeX, LaTeX, and MathML documents. MathType works with 100s of applications and websites, allowing you to put Equations Everywhere and Anywhere™.

Here are just a few of MathType's many features:
Works with Many Applications

While many MathType users create equations for Microsoft Word documents and PowerPoint presentations, MathType also works with many, many other applications and websites and we are adding more and more every day:

* Add equations to Quark and InDesign documents.
* Copy equations from websites like Wikipedia, PlanetMath, etc. for use in your own work. You can author new equations for those websites as well.
* Copy equations from Mathematica or Maple into your research.
* Use equations to label DeltaGraph scientific graphs and Excel spreadsheets.
* Work with TeX and LaTeX editors and documents.

Go to Works With ... to see our MathType Interoperability Registry which lists 100s of compatible applications and websites. Most likely you will see several that you already use or plan to use. If your favorite one is not there, MathType may still work with it using cut and paste, drag and drop, Insert Object, or equation image files.

More Symbols, Templates, and Fonts

* More Fonts: MathType has hundreds more symbols and templates than Equation Editor. Beside our exclusive Euclid™ math fonts, you can also make use of the 1000s of math symbols in fonts already on your computer, as well as math fonts you can download from the Internet.
* Find Symbols: MathType's Insert Symbol dialog allows you to explore the available symbols and insert them with a click or keystroke.

Three Ways to Create Equations

* Point-and-Click Editing with Automatic Formatting: Equations can be created quickly by choosing templates from MathType's palettes and typing into their empty slots. MathType applies mathematical spacing rules automatically as you type.
* Type TeX or LaTeX into MathType: You can also type TeX into MathType's editing window. TeX editing can be mixed with point-and-click editing so you get the best of both worlds. You can also paste in equations from existing TeX documents.
* Type TeX or LaTeX directly into Microsoft Word: If you already know the TeX typesetting language, you can enter equations directly into Microsoft Word documents. Use the Toggle TeX command (Alt+\) to turn what you typed into a MathType equation. Use it again to edit the TeX language.

Saves Time

* Save Expressions in the Toolbar: Drag frequently used equations and expressions to the MathType toolbar so they can be inserted later with just a click or a keystroke.
* Keyboard Shortcuts: MathType has customizable keyboard shortcuts for virtually every symbol, template, and command.

Easier to Use

* Microsoft Office 2007 — MathType Ribbon Tab in Word and PowerPoint: MathType takes full advantage of Office 2007's new Ribbon User Interface making it easier than ever to do equation operations in documents and presentations. New equation numbering and browse features work with all Word equation types.
* Microsoft Office 2003, XP (2002), and 2000 — MathType Toolbar and Menu in Word and PowerPoint: MathType adds a toolbar and menu to Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, allowing quick access to its features and powerful commands to do equation numbering, produce great-looking math web pages, presentations, and much more.

Better Results

* Color: Coloring an equation can make it stand out. Use color to highlight part of an equation and focus your students' attention on it. Show what changed in each step of a multi-step procedure.
* Match PowerPoint Colors: Presentations often make use of color. MathType makes it easy to match equations to your presentation's color scheme.

Equations Everywhere and Anywhere!™

While we know that most MathType users create equations for Microsoft Word documents and PowerPoint presentations, we also know that our customers are working with many other applications and websites these days. They calculate with Excel, Mathematica or Maple, create graphs in DeltaGraph, and compute statistics in SAS or Minitab, find equations on Wikipedia and PlanetMath, to name just a few. They are also working with social software such as blogs, wikis, forums, as well as communicating using instant messaging, email, bulletin boards, etc. While MathType has worked with many of these applications and websites for years, we at Design Science are making a concerted effort to enable MathType users to create equations everywhere and anywhere. Scan our MathType Interoperability List below and see that MathType already works with many of your favorite applications and websites.
MathType Interoperability Registry

This is our list of applications and websites that MathType works with. Many of them allow you to create equations using an Insert Object command. Others work with simple cut-and-paste or drag-and-drop. Yet more can accept EPS or GIF equation image files created by MathType. For many of these applications and websites, MathType includes online help pages describing how best to work with it.

MathType also works with many more that we just don't know about or have yet to evaluate. Please send an email to [email protected] and let us know any we missed, or to tell us about those that you wished worked better with MathType. We are working hard to make MathType your universal equation editing solution. We need your feedback!

  Bentley RAM Advanse 9.5
Posted by: sonidero - 07-22-2009, 09:48 PM - Forum: Bentley Products - Replies (5)

Bentley RAM Advanse Release 9.5.0 (2008)

Info:

Languajes: English and Spanish
Year: 2008
Size: 200 MB
Format: RAR (3 parts)

Principle of user interaction:

The philosophy of commands (actions) of the program is "to select and implement", ie, to perform any operation, you must first select the elements (nodes, members or plates) and then execute the respective command. This allows you to run commands that affect only the selected members, facilitating the creation of models, particularize reports, etc.

All the tools provided by the program to facilitate the entry and generation of data as well as viewing and printing of results are guided by this philosophy.

Design in RAM Advanse

RAM Advansa Another philosophy that has taken to either the design of steel structures, reinforced concrete or wood, is the "trial and error." The engineer defines the properties (ie sections and materials), and the program checks the members get a list of efforts that the condition of each item. After each cycle of testing, the user is free to change or confirm the properties with or without the application of many tools developed for this purpose. The most important benefit of this procedure is that the user has complete control of designing the structure and the certainty that their needs are being met.

New Features:

1. Panear new way to view and rotate the wheel while pressing the mouse right click according to general applications of drawing.

2. New module design trusses: This new module allows you to analyze and design of wood or metal trusses in minutes. This module optimizes the sizes of the members to maintain the outside dimensions of the trusses and includes a report design of critical members.

3. New and improved shoe design module: The module can now be used as a standalone program or integrated with RAM Advansa. In addition to allowing the design of insulated pads, brake shoes also can design combined with the standard ACI 318-05.

4. New module design concrete walls: This module replaces the previous module walls increased cutting capacity and a new interface. The module can now consider out-of-plane loads and has an option to design wall bending, cutting wall or a combination of both.

5. AISC 360-05 design standard for structural steel (ASD and LRFD methods). We have developed a new component to the design that includes stiffeners armed sections of cut and other improvements.

6. Design standard AF & PA National Design Specification (NDS) for wood from the 2005 edition, which incorporates not only the method but also the ASD LRFD method. The provisions also include the variation of resistance according to the size of the species section for Southern Pine.

7. Design standard AISI North American Specification for the design of cold bending steel in 2001 which includes the 2004 supplement. Include ASD and LRFD methods (LSD method to be available in Canada in April 2008), in addition to the crushing of the soul and wing option subject to floor or ceiling.

8. New memory management: The ability to analyze large models is back. With the implementation of the new scanning engine (FE RAM ™) version 7.0, some very large models gave a memory error. This problem has been solved with a sophisticated memory management to analyze large models and far more quickly.

9. Improvements in the form of walls basculates: After the introduction of the first version of this module, many users around the world has provided us feedback that has enabled us to improve the design of high fashion. Ew this is definitely the best version available in the industry

10. New option to select only those combinations / states you wish to discuss.

11. Plaque load temperature.

12. A new set of graphics that are easier and more legible (supports, joints, loads, reactions, effort, etc.). In addition the new 3D graphics are now a more realistic appearance.

13. This version includes the ability to disable the shear strains. This option is useful when models are textbook examples of verification.

14. Improved analysis and design of steel sections I. The analysis now includes the exact finite element stiffness variable-section instead of the old approach that divided the membership into 6 segments (that option is also available). The design includes the verification of the AISC Manual 13th Edition.
