The SAP name has been synonymous with state-of-the-art analytical methods since its introduction over 30 years ago. SAP2000 follows in the same tradition featuring a very sophisticated, intuitive and versatile user interface powered by an unmatched analysis engine and design tools for engineers working on transportation, industrial, public works, sports, and other facilities.
From its 3D object based graphical modeling environment to the wide variety of analysis and design options completely integrated across one powerful user interface, SAP2000 has proven to be the most integrated, productive and practical general purpose structural program on the market today. This intuitive interface allows you to create structural models rapidly and intuitively without long learning curve delays. Now you can harness the power of SAP2000 for all of your analysis and design tasks, including small day-to-day problems.
Complex Models can be generated and meshed with powerful built in templates. Integrated design code features can automatically generate wind, wave, bridge, and seismic loads with comprehensive automatic steel and concrete design code checks per US, Canadian and international design standards.

Action in the case of non-conformity of concrete structures (C519)
Author(s)/Editor(s): P R Ainsworth and C J Hopkins | Size: 5 MB| Format:PDF| Quality:Scanner| Publisher: CIRIA| Year: January 2000| pages: 124 | ISBN: 978-0-86017-519-3
As construction techniques become more sophisticated and the requirements of contract programmes become more demanding, nonconformities - that is, elements and materials that do not conform to the specification - and the problems that they create are becoming increasingly commonplace and difficult to resolve. If such problems are not considered until they arise, delays and costs can escalate alarmingly. Remedying defects in concrete construction in the UK is extremely expensive and can lead to unproductive confrontation between the parties involved. The aim of this book is to help those involved in the construction process to arrive as quickly as possible at pragmatic, cost-effective solutions that are acceptable to all the parties concerned - ie to achieve the win-win situations advocated in the Latham report. Based on research initiated by CIRIA and the Concrete Society, this book encourages practical application of a spirit of mutually beneficial problem-solving. It will be of particular interest to designers, specifiers, constructors and supervisors involved in concrete construction, along with mediators and conciliators.
Key words: concrete and structures, design and buildability, construction management

Bentley OpenRoads Designer introduces a new comprehensive modeling environment to provide construction-driven engineering to help accelerate project delivery of road networks, unifying design and construction processes from concept to completion. The application provides complete detailed design capabilities for surveying, drainage, subsurface utilities, and roadway design.
OpenRoads Designer redefines best practices for the generating design and construction deliverables and ensures the exchange of data throughout the project delivery and asset lifecycle. Using OpenRoads Designer, you can:
- Assemble context data rapidly from a variety of sources, such as point clouds, 3D reality meshes, terrain data, images, and geospatial information to bring real-world settings to your project.
- Achieve exponential modeling performance gains with the model-centric production of design deliverables.
- Enable users to share project information across teams, locations, and disciplines with precision and security.
- Use Catalog Services to manage and deliver functional components for consistent generative design across the engineering workgroup.
- Access Documentation Center to produce multi-discipline documentation for all work on assets across the project.
- Share realistic visualizations with the public and stakeholders to gather feedback, improve public engagements, and speed project approvals.

This book is written by subject experts based on the recent research results in steel plate shear walls considering the gravity load effect. It establishes a vertical stress distribution of the walls under compression and in-plane bending load and an inclination angle of the tensile field strip. The stress throughout the inclined tensile strip, as we consider the effect of the vertical stress distribution, is determined using the von Mises yield criterion. The shear strength is calculated by integrating the shear stress along the width. The proposed theoretical model is verified by tests and numerical simulations. Researchers, scientists and engineers in the field of structural engineering can benefit from the book. As such, this book provides valuable knowledge, useful methods, and practical algorithms that can be considered in practical design of building structures adopting a steel shear wall system.
