This updated edition of this estimating manual gives contractors, engineers and managers two quick and inexpensive methods for estimating realistic design and construction costs of chemical/petrochemical plants, refineries and similar industrial facilities. One method, with an accuracy range of +/- 30 per cent, is suitable for determining plant feasibility in the early planning/evaluating stages; another method produces an estimate of total plant costs with +/- 10 per cent.

The Third edition of this highly successful book is a complete reference on analysis, design and economics of concrete bridges. Meant for design engineers, contractors, their clients and field engineers, the book presents a practical and systematic methodology to enable quick and accurate design decisions. A step-by-step approach has been adopted throughout the text reflecting the order in which a practising professional might proceed for designing a concrete bridge.
Author: C. F. Chan Man, D. De Kee, P. N. Kaloni | Size: 27.2 MB | Format:PDF | Quality:Unspecified | Publisher: World Scientific Pub Co Inc | Year: 2003 | pages: 896 | ISBN: 9812382917
This is a mathematical text suitable for students of engineering and science who are at the third year undergraduate level or beyond. It is a book of applicable mathematics. It avoids the approach of listing only the techniques, followed by a few examples, without explaining why the techniques work. Thus, it provides not only the know-how but also the know-why. Equally, the text has not been written as a book of pure mathematics with a list of theorems followed by their proofs. The authors' aim is to help students develop an understanding of mathematics and its applications. They have refrained from using clichés like "it is obvious" and "it can be shown", which may be true only to a mature mathematician. On the whole, the authors have been generous in writing down all the steps in solving the example problems.
The book comprises ten chapters. Each chapter contains several solved problems clarifying the introduced concepts. Some of the examples are taken from the recent literature and serve to illustrate the applications in various fields of engineering and science. At the end of each chapter, there are assignment problems with two levels of difficulty. A list of references is provided at the end of the book.
This book is the product of a close collaboration between two mathematicians and an engineer. The engineer has been helpful in pinpointing the problems which engineering students encounter in books written by mathematicians.

Website that mirrors free articles available on the net.
In case you want to open a library here you'll find lot's of stuff easy to download, hard to index.
Most it's related to non engineering, chemistry stuff.
Anyway it's fascinating how many articles are there.
The website has some, few, words and articles in Russian, most are in English.
