Revit Structure users can now leverage the full power of Building Information Modeling by synchronizing their Revit Structure models with RISA-3D and/or RISAFloor. As an Autodesk Authorized Developer, RISA Technologies has created a full-fledged bi-directional exchange link with Revit Structure.
New models can be created in either Revit Structure or RISA software using the information available in the other program. All geometric and design information including materials, family instances, walls, slabs, openings, grid lines, boundary conditions, footings, loads and load combinations can be created/updated/deleted in either of the two programs using the information available in the other program.
The new exchange file method allows continuity of data flow throughout the exchange cycle. Users can add new elements and/or additional design to the RISA model and these changes will be retained in RISA while round-tripping.
The robust Excel based XML mapping file provides the capability to customize the processing of shapes, materials and load cases. A log file is created during every export/import operation giving a synopsis on the number of elements translated and errors/warnings encountered, if any.
Link Version......RISA-Revit Link 9.0
Compatibility – Revit Structure........Revit Structure 2011 (32-bit or 64-bit)
Compatibility – RISA......RISA-3D 8.1.3 or higher & RISAFloor 4.1.4 or higher

The example books published as part of the Numerical Recipes second edition series contain source programs that exercise and demonstrate all of the Numerical Recipes subroutines. Each example program contains comments and is prefaced by a short description of what it does. The books contain all of the old material from the original edition as well as new material from the second edition. They will be valuable for readers who wish to incorporate procedures and subroutines into their own source programs. They are available in both FORTRAN and C.

Numerical Methods for Engineers, 5/e chapra+solution manual
Numerical Methods for Engineers, 5/e
Steven C Chapra, Tufts University
ISBN: 007291873x
Copyright year: 2006
The fifth edition of Numerical Methods for Engineers with Software and Programming Applications continues its tradition of excellence.
Instructors love this text because it is a comprehensive text that is easy to teach from. Students love it because it is written for them--with great pedagogy and clear explanations and examples throughout. The text features a broad array of applications, including all engineering disciplines.
The revision retains the successful pedagogy of the prior editions. Chapra and Canale's unique approach opens each part of the text with sections called Motivation, Mathematical Background, and Orientation, preparing the student for what is to come in a motivating and engaging manner. Each part closes with an Epilogue containing sections called Trade-Offs, Important Relationships and Formulas, and Advanced Methods and Additional References. Much more than a summary, the Epilogue deepens understanding of what has been learned and provides a peek into more advanced methods. Users will find use of software packages, specifically MATLAB and Excel with VBA. This includes material on developing MATLAB m-files and VBA macros. Also, many, many more challenging problems are included. The expanded breadth of engineering disciplines covered is especially evident in the problems, which now cover such areas as biotechnology and biomedical engineering.

Conferences New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering
The Society
The New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering (NZSEE) was formed in April 1968, and has made a significant impact on attitudes and practices for earthquake engineering through study projects, seminars, conferences, and publication of The Bulletin. A brief history of The Society is given below.
The Society provides a forum for technical debate, promotes reconnaissance of local and overseas earthquakes, is involved in the evolution of relevant legislation and regulations, and contributes to planning for, response to, and recovery from, earthquakes.
Mission and Objectives
The mission and objectives in the Society's Constitution and Rules (132 kB pdf) are paraphrased as "To gather, shape and apply knowledge to reduce the impact of earthquakes on our communities by:
Fostering the advancement of the science and practice of earthquake engineering across all disciplines
Promoting co-operation among scientists, engineers and other professionals in the broad field of earthquake engineering through interchange of knowledge, ideas, results of research and practical experience"
Membership
The membership of the Society includes professional engineers, scientists and others having an interest in earthquake phenomena or in the effects of earthquakes. Admission to membership of the Society is subject to the approval of the Management Committee. Ordinary (individual) and Corporate memberships are available (see Join for details), with a discount for students.

Hi everyone , this is reehan . I am professionally a programmer. I find forum discussion, a very interesting stuff to do. I used to hang out with these forums during my spare time. Many topics have got a healthy discussion over here. I think it would be most enjoyable while doing discussions in this forums.And pleased to meet all the other members of this site.
Wish you a wonderful day to all other members in this site.

EN 12843:2004 Precast concrete products - Masts and poles
This Standard specifies requirements for precast concrete poles (also commonly called masts) (either all of a piece or composed of elements), reinforced and/or prestressed as structural elements; they may be hollow or solid and may receive or include additional components (e.g. cross-arms, platforms etc.), inserts and connectors. Additional elements may be connected to pole elements.
Structures made from such elements in mono- or multi-legged form may be used for :
- overhead electrical lines ;
- telecommunication lines ;
- overhead electrical lines for railways, trams and similar ;
- supports for lighting ;
- supports for loudspeaker installation ;
- antenna and telecommunication poles ;
- supports for wind turbines ;
- and similar installations.
This Standard does not cover lighting columns for use in traffic circulation areas.
