Hi all,

Can we have torrent download for the files which are of huge size such as Tekla structures (nearly 350 MB and 200 MB) ... such as the one available in the following thread:

Code:
***************************************
Content of this section is hidden, You must be registered and activate your account to see this content. See this link to read how you can remove this limitation:

***************************************

Advance thanks for any clarification.

I would agree with the idea of making possible to download torrent file for large files size (like software or book compilation). Waiting period on some download server is frustrating.
Best regards

I agree with this idea but torrent passworded and without explicit name, so they cannot be found easy by others outside our forum and deleted.

If I'm not mistaken, this idea has been posted before.

Though I agree with more download methods leads to less programs with dead links, I fear that non Civilea users can get hands on these files just as easy. Yes, files can be password protected; however, it becomes the last protection before general audiences to get programs. If there is a way to prevent this; however it may apply, I'll be happy to be a part of uploaders.

It has been nearly 2 years from last post but torrent idea would be grateful for registered users.

I also use CGPEERS - cgpersia's torrent download site
Code:
***************************************
Content of this section is hidden, You must be registered and activate your account to see this content. See this link to read how you can remove this limitation:

http://forum.civilea.com/thread-27464.html
***************************************
and they have their own trackers and peers for torrent protection.

I may not be the best protected system for torrent file but torrents can be tracked through their own tracker servers and if any unauthorized access is taken, process can be managed through admin/mod panel.

Since only registered users can see and download torrent file through site, users ONLY TRUST EACH OTHER that torrent file is not shared with someone else out of the site.

I hope this method would be discussed in the future for CivilEA too.

Hi all again,

I read the forum rules but couldn't find whether it would be appropriate to share a "torrent magnet link" or "torrent file itself" from another site within civilea.com.

For instance what if I would have shared :

Code:
***************************************
Content of this section is hidden, You must be registered and activate your account to see this content. See this link to read how you can remove this limitation:

http://forum.civilea.com/thread-27464.html
***************************************

magnet link from external site, would it mean that I violated the rules?

Thanks.

P.S : Do not try to open magnet link since it's not a valid.

I don't realy understand your question.
If you have a link of something fitting the forum profile as software, books etc.. (see our sections) you can use the Post Generator as every one, fill all the details and post your link. We have some threads in forum with torrent links along regular links. Why a torrent link can violate the forum rules?
