Mooring equipment guidelines (2nd ed.)

The most common terminals for tankers are sea islands and piers; however, many other shipboard operations such as mooring at Single Point Moorings (SPM's), Multi-Buoy Moorings (MBM's), emergency towing, barge mooring, tug handling, anchoring, canal transit may fall into the category of mooring and thus require specialized equipment or fittings.

Mooring Equipment Guidelines, 3rd Edition (MEG3)

Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) first published 'Mooring Equipment Guidelines' in 1992 and this latest, third edition provides a major revision and update to the original content to reflect changes in ship and terminal design, operating practices and advances in technology. These guidelines cover the minimum recommended OCIMF mooring requirements.
