[REQUEST] Football Stadium

Please somebody having experience in designing small Football Stadium with seat capacity less than 10000 spectators.
Stadium using reinforced concrete & the roof using steel structure.
Please help

There is a great book on stadium roofs by Geraint John, Ro Sheard and Ben Vickery... go through that - it should be a good enough place to start.

This is the book i am talking about - its in our forum.

My design calculations will not available as i had done this work for some other engineers, so they wouldn't be very pleased with my sharing... but i can help you out if you hit a wall on any particular issue.


Also - i feel you will find ALL your answers in the book ..

Usually stadium have a long span cantilever roof with a space truss system (20-40 meters), The suplier support the calculation and design of all element of the roof (ie: truss, ball joint, etc).
They will send to consultant the reaction support of the space truss roof.

For concrete frame stadium, I think is not a big problem for you.

There are a lot of criteria for designing football stadiums.
For example , UEFA criteria
1. Field of play
100-105m. long
64-68m , wide
2. Floodlighting
- 800Ev (lx) toward fixed cameras
- 500Ev (lx) toward mobile cameras
3. Parking areas , VIP seats , media working area , press box etc
