Abstract
The specification for this research work was to establish the effects of alkali-silica reaction (ASR) on bending, shear torsional and compressive modes of failure and to establish the development of internal strains and cracking. Phase 2 of the project was a series of tests dealing with the effect of ASR on various failure modes. This report presents the results of the work carried out in Phase 2 and discusses their implications for the assessment of structures affected by ASR.
