Dear members of CivilEA,

My final project about revisiting jackup rig using FE software Abaqus. I'm confuse to input material properties like increasing values. How to put elasticity and cohession values increasing with depth (i.e at 0-2m c=20kPa and at 2-8m c=20+2h)?

Thank you

U can partition the jackup rig and then assign different materials
sorry it won't actuallt work with partition but u can create different parts that u will assign different properties and give them tie constraints so they will work as one

dear chingyxxl,
yes, i have partition the soil model to some layer. Is it possible to put increasing cohesion value in cap plasticity?

First, you make different partitions for the model. In material modul, you should define the number of material according to number of part. Example : you have 3 different soil layers, then you make 3 partitions and then 3 material types. By this way, you can assign the diferent soil properties for different soil layers as you want.

Hope this help,
