Dear Friend,

You can check GeoStudio 2007 web page. From there you can dowload a trial version of Seep/W 2007 which is the best software I know to model groundwater and seepage. The trial version includes a detalied manual whic describes the theory behind the software. It also includes some tutorial and worked examples.

I can send you a copy of the book if you cannot get it on the web.

Regards,

elitvdis

Hi parwez007,

It seems you need to do work in Groundwater modeling and you are interested on this topic. Let me give you some ideas, as I have little bit expertise on that. For Groundwater modeling purpose, you can use two basic methods.....Finite difference and Finite Element technique. Both of them are numerical methods. Many codes are being used to model groundwater system, which use those two techniques. Among them, MODFLOW (developed by USGS) which follow finite difference algorithm, and FEEMWATER which use finite element techniqe. You can find many graphical user interface (GUI) to use those in different companies. Usually, people use MODFLOW code (3-D GW modeling tool), but for more precision, you can go for finie element coldes like FEEMWATER etc. depending on your project. Some popular model (GUI) is VisualMODFLOWPro (Waterloo Hydrogeologic Inc., Canada), GMS (Aquaveo LLC, USA), PMWIN (Processsing MODFLOWPro---Developed by Prof. Chiang) etc. and many more. But first two are very popular GUI and widely used.

For Book, you can go through the book below to use PMWIN free version (try to find it out by search through google)

A Simulation System for Modeling Groundwater Flow and Transport Processes

To gain fundamental knowledge regarding Groundwater Modeling, you should go through the following book, but I dont have. If you find it, please upload for all us.....okay.
