Sap2000 v14.2.4 Selection Plugin
Size: 0.171 MB
This is a home made plugin for sap2000 v14.2.4. I don't know if it works with other v14 versions.
For more information check sap2000 help, Plug Ins topic, Add/Show Plug Ins
It allows you to select Joints or Frames or Shells by retrieving from clipboard a list with their labels.
It's useful when you wish to select multiple items, in a fast way.
A way to use it:
- export a table with frame forces in excel
- filter the list look for let's say frames with high axial force
- select the rows with frame labels, copy them to clipboard
- run the plugin click paste, click select (just make sure nothing is selected before doing so).
For programmers:
- you'll find the source code written in C#, Visual Studio 2010 Express.
- I hope this plugin will help you develop your own and maybe share them here.
- I had no access to the example plug in project mentioned in help so this came up after following the rules stated there.
- the window can be shown not as dialog this will return control to sap an violate the rule mentioned in it's help but it will allow you to keep the plug in open and referenced to that instance of Sap.
First install .Net 4.0 framework available at Microsoft website. Only if you don't have it. You should have it if the following folder exists:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319
Inside the archive there's a folder called Plugin
Inside that there's another one called Selection
1) Copy the Selection folder to a safe place, somewhere on your hdd where you don't make changes to folder structure, it can be also in Sap2000 installation folder, in a sub folder called Plugins.
2) Run install.bat with Administrator rights, it should write in that dark window that both Types and library registered successfully.
3) Run Sap2000 Click Tools, Add/Show Plugins,
- write the name of the plugin: SAP2000PlugIn_LVM_001
- write whatever Menu Text e.g. Selection
- Click Add, if you see OK at status all went well, if it's Not found I'm sorry but it doesn't work for you.
