Hi everyone,

if someone have information about box culverts (precast box culverts, design methods, loads distribution, soil-structure interaction, rules and codes, technical specifications, etc.) please share.

Also looking for:

Hope it helps.

Let's try this program. It's DOS base program. I understand that it was written with FORTRAN because the way of input data. I've never used it in my works because of the unit.

I hope it may help you, at least, for preliminary design.

Check the following presentation given by one of my class fellow in MSc. It has procedure for design of culverts.

I have some more suggestion in box culvert designing.
1.Install "Washington Bridge Foundation Libraries"
see this thread:
Code:

There is one excel example file "Culvert.xls" come together with above software. It looks like this

2. Input culvert sizes, loads, and analyse it. You will use moments, shears for top slab and wall for your RC Design.

3. Use reaction from 2. and put into "Beam on Elastic Foundation" where you can get it from
Code:

4. Use moments from 3. for your bottom slab RC design.

I hope, it will be useful for you.

Hi all, and thanks for your replies they were and will be very useful.

I'am now asking for some help modelling a simple example of the structure, say a 5x5 m box culvert with 4 m soil cover.
I'am using ansys 12 with civilFEM (never used it before) by request of the responsible for the project, so if someone as a similar model from ansys, a tunnel for example, please share the file, so i can study it and try to model my "little" box.

thanks all

raffah

PS: i know this may not be the right section of the forum to make this request, but i thing there is no need to open another tread about this matter. if there is any problem with this i will ask in the proper section.
