BS 5655-13:1995 Lifts and service lifts. Recommendations for vandal resistant lifts
Size: 413 KB | Format: PDF | Year: 15 December 1995 | pages: 16 | ISBN: 0 580 24708 2
This Part of BS 5655 supplements BS 5655-1 and BS 5655-2 with additional recommendations and performance criteria intended to increase the vandal resistance of lifts. It does not cover such measures as improved building security, enhanced aesthetics, etc. which might also be usefully considered.
It is assumed that car and landing doors are operated automatically with characteristics taken from Tables 1 to 4 of BS 5655-5:1989.
NOTE A totally enclosed well, and car and landing doors which are operated automatically, are rerequisites to vandal resistance. This British Standard assumes that the more restrictive access is to equipment, the less likely will be the occurrence of vandalism.
This standard has been declared obsolescent as it is still being used during lift modernisation.
