The new forum looks too wide

On my screen with 1028x1024 resolution, the forum looks too wide, is there any way to switch to "narrow" version?

I suppose you mean 1280x1024.
I can tell you the first time i saw it i tought the same and i continued to use most of the time the 2.0 template (in this period the 3.0 was beta and only for moderators).

After a short time i begun to feel comfortable and i use the same resolution (1280x1024).
The template looks good in my iPad too and i don't think we can made different templates for every screen dimensions, resolutions and different browsers.
Even the colors look a little different in some screens but i think this template is better than the old one.
