WHICH IS BEST FREE ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE ?

BEST IN TERMS OF SPEED OF SCANNING, NO FALSE VIRUS DETECTION, NO SLOWING DOWN COMPUTER SPEED, EASY ONLINE UPDATE etc.

First of all, AVG is useless.
Avast and Avira has the same rating but I prefer Avast.

I tried with various anti virus soft including that you mentioned , at last settled on Kaspersky. its not free but medicine is available. All things are ok in terms of that you have specified.
Men Build too many walls not enough bridges.

On page 6 of that report it says that "AVG, AVIRA: asked to do not enable/consider the informational warnings of packers as detections." and I think this enabled option in your PC gives you warning all the time. But be careful it says "warning" not "VIRUS" (refering your post to Etabs v9.7.1).

AVIRA ANTIVIR is the best.

Also I believe that antivirus that can be cracked can also be bypassed easily so always use antivirus which has no cracks available whether Paid or free versions.
The ONLY dumb question is one that is not asked

Note :
1.Disable all your AVIRA firewall and guard.
2.Unzip AVIRA V10.0.0.542 - KEY for until 19 okt 2010.zip for HBEDV.KEY
3.Start ANTIVIR-HELP-License Management
4.See the sentences : I already have a valid hbedv.key license file
4.Click blue words hbedv.key, and browse/search the unxip file (HBEDV.KEY)
5.Enjoy
