I think the new template id good but if the green icon "NEW" should be small, the page will be better.

i think dark is good.. may be reducing power consumption... just thinking as google also released its black version of template.

This new template looks very nice to me...
i just like to suggest if you can make it a little brighter cos it looks dark.
