'Anybody can discuss how to get the actual drift and what load combination used in UBC 97 code in getting the actual drift.'
View from non (seldom) etabs user and 'british' region concrete designer;
Drift check
ULS to check p-delta effect
- through 'braced' and 'unbraced' frame categorisation
load combination : 1.4DL+1.4WL and 1.2DL+1.2LL+1.2WL
SLS to check tolerance of human to the drift
- through control of interstorey drift, different countries different limit, 1/500 common
load combination : 1.0DL+1.0WL and 1.0DL+0.8LL+0.8WL
All moment inertia of the members when running structural analysis have to be reduced as per aci 318 (this is a typical british problem, why don't they provide guidance?)
