- Abstract: It is widely known that the stiffness and strength of frames increases by incorporation of masonry infill panels without openings. The behaviour of partly infilled reinforcedconcrete frames is analysed, taking into account dimensions and locations of
openings. A numerical parametric study of infilled reinforced-concrete frames is conducted, with an emphasis on wall dimensions, and dimensions and locations of openings. An appropriate analytical expression is presented for estimating the
reduced stiffness of an equivalent diagonal compression strut.
