RunAsDate - azas - 06-09-2010

RunAsDate is a small utility that allows you to run a program in the date and time that you specify. This utility doesn't change the current system date and time of your computer, but it only injects the date/time that you specify into the desired application. You can run multiple applications simultaneously, each application works with different date and time, while the real date/time of your system continues to run normally.

You can freeze the trial period indefinitely. I used RunAsDate on Fastrak 19 and it works. And its free, too!

RE: RunAsDate - ska51 - 06-09-2010

Dear azas,

I visited the link you provided and saw the below message by one of the user [Warrior4Jesus on June 2, 2009] of this program (RunAsDate 1.05).

"Pros: The only good thing about this utility is the concept itself. Other than that, there's nothing great about it.

Cons: This utility does not work with 64-bit programs. Be very careful! It may cause issues."

Although I didn't check with this information, could you please confirm to all of us so that our honorable members of this great forum can know this, as you are using (or used) the program frequently.

thank you for your efforts in advance.

regards
ska51

RE: RunAsDate - igor1234 - 06-09-2010

I can confirm that this program is working. I have used it for Corel x4 installed on XP Sp3 32bit. I have set the date when program should start.

This is a great program, but you should know that most of the new programs are smart and they are using many methods to get the system date.

In order to be shore that all installed settings are removed from the disk I will recommend to use Ashampoo Uninstaller v4. This program is smart to catch all system changes even where the program is keeping the writen trial data.

I hope this is helpful

RE: RunAsDate - anneb361 - 08-27-2010

HI Azas:

Please explain how do you use it for CSC Fastrak 19

Thanks.

RE: RunAsDate - azas - 09-07-2010

Hi anneb361

You need to completely remove Fastrak if this has been installed previously. Maybe you can try using Ashampoo Uninstaller as recommended in post #3. The important thing is that all traces of any previous installations must be removed, or else it won't work. If using uninstallers does not work, then you might have to restore your pc to some earlier date (like I did).

The rest is easy. Just run RunAsDate and give the details required (especially the dates - I use today's date). A new shortcut icon for the target program will appear on your desktop. You have to use this modified icon everytime you want to use the target program.

Fastrak is made up of several modules. You therefore have to run RunAsDate and create shortcut icons for every module. Each time you run Fastrak, the Local License Information windows will pop up. Just close them. Fastrak will run in trial mode but with no limitation.

I hope this helps. Try it and best regards to all.

RE: RunAsDate - anneb361 - 09-07-2010

The only difficult is to uninstall CSC fastrak 19. I have tried few times but still failed. Of course, I can re-format the hardisk. By the way, I have posted the requested software for CSC fastrak 19 but until now the link is not complete. Please upload it 4shared.com under the requested software CSC fastrak 19. Thanks.
