Hi Folks,
I'm looking for any information, books, software and /or standards about design of concrete storage silos for cement plants (raw material, clinker, gypsum and cement (multicell)). DIN, EC and ACI standards are appreciated!
Thanks in advance for any help!

Powders and Bulk Solids: Behavior, Characterization, Storage and Flow by Schulze, D. & Carson, J.
The book concentrates on powder flow properties, their measurement and applications. These topics are explained starting from the interactions between individual particles up to the design of silos. A wide range of problems are discussed - such as flow obstructions, segregation, and vibrations. The goal is to provide a deeper understanding of the powder flow, and to show practical solutions. In the first part the fundamentals of bulk solids flow are outlined: particle-particle interactions, stress, friction, strength, density, flow properties and methods of measurement, shear testers and other test procedures, specific properties of powders and how they are influenced by moisture, temperature, and flow agents. The second part deals with the application of the flow properties in the design of properly working bulk solid containers like bins, silos, and hoppers. Other topics include: the technical design of silo walls, feeders, discharge aids, inserts, the assessment of stresses in silos. Helps to understand the fundamental behaviour of powders and bulk solids. Identifies suitable test methods and helps to interpret and understand their results. Explains how bulk solids flow influences the design of a plant or an installation

VSL’s DuraStor™ Tanks are prestressed concrete storage tanks reinforced with post-tensioning tendons (governed by ACI 350 and AWWA D115). This method actively reinforces the structure and significantly enhances its watertightness and long-term durability. DuraStor™ Tanks can be constructed in many shapes to suit project needs – there are no practical limitations. Tanks have been constructed with capacities up to 30,000,000 gallons.

The link about ACI 313 is OK. Download starts without problem. It might be your browser at fault.

I think i have softcopy of ec1: pt4 actions in silo and tanks. Pretty lousy in this uploading stuff. pm me ur email add. try to email it to u.
Very nice ConcreteOk!
I send you my e-mail in PVT (Private), but, could you upload this softcopy to Rapidshare (or any other free file hosting/share) and put the link here to share it for all?
Thanks in advance!
Here is an very interesting presentation (screens capture) of CemTech 2006 - Implications of the new Eurocode EN1991-4 on the design of Cement and Raw Meal Storage Silos, by Hugh McKay and James Durack, and show us interesting comparative Silos Design Standards (compares Eurocode with DIN, BS, ACI, AS (Australian Standards) and others).
Very useful for concrete silo design (important recommendations) and warnings.

Hi, I require information about silos inverted cone. I read information in this site, but I required more information. Please help me
U
Steel or concrete silo?
Which material you will storage?
Silo of reinforced concrete. I have some doubt about the method of eurocode. I search some example that I can use with procedure.
Thaks for answer.

Dear unamuno,
The material that I was posted in this thread just compare EuroCode with others codes and explains a lot of procedures, tips and suggestions about how to design concrete silos.
Let me know if is this material is useful for you ans if it is the kind of information that you want.
Regards
Dell
I need some help for theory in silos with inverted cone. I saw some information on the internet but I couldn't find any theory and design topics.
Please help
