The Lateral Forces division of the ARE tests
candidates primarily for their knowledge of
earthquake and wind design. Whether or not you
live in an area susceptible to earthquakes, you
must have sufficient understanding of earthquake
design to pass this test. The purpose of
this lesson is to provide you with that understanding.
