Description:
This Manual provides a range of “Ready-to-Use” designs for pitched Roof Trusses ranging from 5.55m to 40.0 m spans and Lean-to Trusses ranging from 1.5 m to 9.4m spans each in two different slopes. This also provides designer for Purlins, Side Grits etc. covering various industrial requirements, keeping in mind prevailing practice. For comparison and ready reference, recommended material requirement for roof truss of spans 9m, 1 2m, 24m, and 30m designed with conventional sections have been drawn from BIS Handbook, SP38-1 987 and placed along with RHS/SHS requirement and possible savings. Other load capacities of single RHS/SHS as struts, tie members, beams and torsional members along with properties of compound sections of double RHS/SHS have also been included for designers’ reference.
