Nothing is damaged. Some users need years for knowing the WinRAR 5 is used now around the world and when trying to expand using an old version will receive an error. This thing is specified in many post in forum and maybe another way is to use the option included in version 5 for compressing in the old format or in ZIP. I suppose it will be easier for the few users contributing in forum and using WinRAR 5 instead to trying to explain for years to others.

7-Zip could not extract the archive. Apparently only the latest version of WinRAR can extract the archive.
