All servers of this kind are anonymous. I prefer mediafire because of:
- Unlimited storage
- Up to 100MB per file
- Unlimited uploads
- Unlimited downloads
- Unlimited bandwidth
- Image galleries
- No sign up required
- No software to install
...and the best part is that downloader can simultaneously download multiple files ;)
TIP: I made my account on mediafire with some random made e-mail address with imaginary person data (comic book character)...
Best regards!

Technically they are all anonymous BUT they ALL log IPs... Most will report IP's under extreme circumstances (child porn, terrorism etc.). Although sometimes they have been known to report copyright infringers... In this day in age nothing is anonymous.
Wikipedia comparison, somewhat lacking:
Personally I prefer Rapidshare since that is where the majority of files are hosted and the DL speed is the best in the biz (as fast as your ISP will let you). They limit to 5gb of transfer/day for premium users; however from 1am to 9am UTC premium members use only 10% of their allotted transfer so you could potentially DL 50gb a day. 5gb/day is plenty for most, but once you start DL'ing m-720p movies it doesn't seem so big.
Megaupload is also good, just avoid using their software. The direct download community praises Megaupload because everything is unlimited (if you pay). The free use is also fair, but there are better free sites.
Mediafire is a great service although hardly anyone uses it... Also, you can't really share in the same sense that other sites work as direct/hot links are only for 'pro' users.
It really boils down to what your doing. If your working with huge files (1GB+), go with Megaupload or Megashares. Otherwise I prefer Rapidshare and DepositFiles for everyday files.
4shared is ok for free use, but there are many better sites. 4shared is a ripoff compared to megaupload... Sites that have great premium service may have crappy free service and vice versa. Each site has their own little limitations.
Hope that rambling helps. Oh, and a paltry $10/mo is worth it. It took me a year of using free services to just buckle down and buy an account and I'll never go back.
