In Romania the price is not constant, it depends on the building type and surface, but generally is between 3-4$/sqm and it can decrease in the case of buildings with larger surfaces.
In Cambodia, 5% of the entire project price.
In India it's depends on project:-
For Buildings it is 5 Rs/sq. ft or 1% of project cost
For bridges it will be ranging from 1.5 to 5% of total project cost.
( as in my knowledge )
In Indonesia, is about
structural : 1-2 usd/m2
ME: 1.5-2.5 usd/m2
Arc: 2-3 usd/m2
(1usd = rp 10000)
However many new consultant dare to be lower than the half of above price. We're killing each other here in Indonesia :dash2:

DE
Essenza,

How come the MEP consultancy rate is higher than structural cost , i don't quite understand.
Probably the total C&S will be higher than MEP , eh?
The USA is 5% of total building cost if your lucky.

We get .05 to 2 % of the total construction in the USA. I have never got 5% of total construction. That would be great. The architect fee ranges from 5 to 15% . The engineer are a sub to the architect.
@haze

Does your percentage include everything, start to finish, or just permit drawings? Barring any change orders, there is a lot of work to be done after your initial construction set. I usually spend far more time on construction admin then initial design.

I admit that 5% is a nice dream, but I think 2% is a bit low. But what do I know.... I consult on my own and I have no work at all. I am spending my days reading all the classic literature I missed out on while in engineering school. If anyone has any Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Maugham, Hemingway, etc... questions, I am your man.
in Algeria in the best cases 5%
In Pakistan 2-3% of total cost of the project for Structural Designing+Detailing or Drawings
and 10-15% for Construction
These may vary in accordance of Size of Project, specialty and the Risk Factor involved....
