Dear forum members,

I faced a problem when using Section Designer of SAP2000 v14.2.3:

Everything was set to default (except the Width which I changed from 0,5 to 0,35). I tried to change the setting in Conc. Model drop down list when this window showing error appeared. (I'm using Windows XP (Version 5.1) Build 2600, Service Pack 2).
The window cannot be shut down whether I press OK or Cancel. I have to force End Task.

I'd like to know if someone is experiencing the same problem and how to fix it.

Many thanks in advance.

Dear All.
I am interesting to request/download some photos from nisee berkeley.
But I don't know how to get link for a collective photos. After search, I got only individual photos.

Let's say I want to get all photos of earthquake at 19xx year
Or
I want to get photos of damage column due to quake at US or something.
Or
I want to get photos uploaded by Mr. X

Is is possible to get link for collective photos? It really exhausting if I request photo one by one, and of course for contributor too

This guide is a field tool to assist workers in selecting and construction the right asphalt surface treatment (AST) for their specific situation. It describes how to construct three basic types of serviceable ASTs: seal coat AST, double-layer AST, and high float AST, using a specific selection of asphalt types and aggregate gradations that are found to work in Alaska. The guide covers materials selection and quality, construction methods, and troubleshooting. It also contains safety information. Before this guide, there existed no single, comprehensive document covering AST construction – workers used a varied combination of manuals from many sources, including personal “cheat sheets.” This guide is a compilation of available information, drawing heavily from national sources as well as Canada’s Yukon Government Community and Transportation Services. It contains specifications, detailed construction methods, and cautionary information that have never before been collected into a single document. It does not cover hot mix asphalt applications.
This comprehensive handbook is designed to provide the reader with the knowledge needed to successfully implement an active, hybrid or semi-active control system to a structure, safeguarding it against environmental forces such as wind or earthquakes. Written by leading experts in structural control, this book:

Emphasises fail-safe techniques and validates their implementation through simulations.
Examines the implicit issues between theoretical development and actual implementation of systems.
Identifies important hardware and software safety features.
Describes a PC-based system simulator, which simulates the real-time response of structure and control hardware.

Active, Hybrid and Semi-active Structural Control is a must have reference for researchers, practitioners and design engineers working in civil, aerospace, automotive and mechanical engineering. It is undoubtedly the key resource for all postgraduate students in this rapidly growing area of research interest and development.
Stability Design of Steel Frames provides a summary of the behavior, analysis and design of structural steel members and frames with flexibly-jointed connections. The book presents the theory and design of structural stability and includes extensions of computer-based analyses for individual members in space with imperfections. It also shows how connection flexibility influences the behavior and design of steel frames and how designers must consider this in a limit-state analysis and design procedure. The clearly written text and extensive bibliography make this a practical book for advanced students, researchers and professionals in civil and structural engineering, as well as a useful supplement to traditional books on the theory and design of structural stability.
--------------------------
Biography
Dr. Wai-Fah Chen -- A well-respected leader in the field of plasticity, structural stability, and structural steel design over the past half-century, he has made major contributions to introduce the mathematical theory of plasticity to civil engineering practice, especially in the application of limit analysis methods to the geotechnical engineering field. Having headed the engineering departments at the University of Hawaii and Purdue University, Chen is a widely cited author and the recipient of several national engineering awards, including the 1990 Shortridge Hardesty Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers and the 2003 Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Institute of Steel Construction.

W. F. Chen, Ph.D. Brown University, Member of U.S. National Academy of Engineering and Member of Taiwan National Academy of Science ( Academia Sinica), formerly Distinguished Professor of Civil Engineering at Purdue University and Dean of Engineering at University of Hawaii. He is currently a Research Professor of Civil Engineering at UH.
