The thermalbucklingandpostbucklinganalysisoflaminatedcompositebeamswithtemperature- dependentmaterialpropertiesispresented.Thegoverningequationsarebasedonthefirst-ordershear deformationbeamtheory(FSDT)andthegeometricalnonlinearityismodeledusingGreen’sstrain tensor inconjunctionwiththevonKarmanassumptions.Thedifferentialquadraturemethod(DQM)as an accurate,simpleandcomputationallyefficientnumericaltoolisadoptedtodiscretizethegoverning equationsandtherelatedboundaryconditions.Adirectiterativemethodisemployedtoobtainthe criticaltemperature(bifurcationpoint)aswellasthenonlinearequilibriumpath(thepostbuckling behavior)ofsymmetricallylaminatedbeams.Theapplicability,rapidrateofconvergenceandhigh accuracy ofthemethodareestablishedviadifferentexamplesandbycomparingtheresultswiththose of existinginliterature.Then,theeffectsoftemperaturedependenceofthematerialproperties, boundaryconditions,length-to-thicknessratios,numberoflayersandplyangleonthethermal bucklingandpostbucklingcharacteristicofsymmetricallylaminatedbeamsareinvestigated.
