Advance is a leading edge steel construction application integrated into the latest AutoCAD® version under the
Windows operating system.
With intelligent Advance objects, a three dimensional model is created and stored in a drawing (in DWG format).
The Advance Model forms the basis of the 3D construction. It contains and manages objects (e.g., beams,
plates, bolts, welds) including their features and relationships to each other. Complex structures are created
using Advance structural elements (e.g., a portal frame or a stairway) with all the required features, joints, and
connections, within a command.
The Advance model becomes the master reference for other tools.
• Dimensioned and labeled general arrangement and shop drawings are automatically created from the
model information. They are stored in separate DWGs using the user preferences for format, page setup
and drawing look and feel (the Advance drawing style). It is also possible to create several details on a single
sheet.
• The general arrangement and shop drawings are created from the information contained in the model and
are managed by the Advance Document Manager. The update tool in the Document Manager makes single
click drawing adjustments possible after model changes.
• Structured BOMs (bills of materials) and NC-information are also created from the model and include all
model information such as part marks and quantities. These documents are also managed by the Document
Manager. Bills of material/structured BOMs and NC-information are listed and previewed in the
Document Manager.

2. Run the program AS AC AD GRAITEC without internet

Short instructions how to install:

1- Unrar;

2- Install FlexLM server: <\install\Tools\LicenseServer\setup.exe>;

3- Open license file: \patch\graitec2010.dat and replace in the first string 'this_host' with your PC hostname;

4- Replace original FlexLM-server files from <installdir> (not 'Commom files' folder!!!) with \patch\x86{64}\Flexnet_server\*.* <--> Program Files --> Graitec --> Licence Server --> Bin>

5- Test FlexLM server pointing to above modified graitec2010.dat as the license file.
--> Program Files --> Graitec --> Licence Server --> Bin --> double click in imtools.exe;

6- Install Advance Steel;

7- Install SP4;

8- Replace Graitec FlexLM files from: programfiles\Common Files\Graitec\ with \patch\x86{64}\Common_Files\*.*;

9- Before the first run of the app register the license with copied LicenseUtility9x86.exe (\Common Files\Graitec) choosing 'via server' option and enter your hostname as the server name and 7621 as a port.
10- For x64 users is better to download the last x64 version of the flex tools (lmtools.exe, lmgrd.exe and lmutil.exe) from there (last version v11.9.1 for ALL OS):

Installing Graitec Advance Steel 2010 (tutorial).

Installed in Windows 7 64bit using Autocad 2011 but the process must be almost the same for 32bit systems or another Autocad version.
Read the LAVteam.nfo even if I detailed more in this tutorial. If you don’t succeed don’t ask more questions because I can’t see what I can add for more help. Try to understand every step and be sure, if the program doesn’t works is only because you missed something.
1. Install FlexLM Server. Go to Tools\License Server (in your install folder) and run Setup.exe.
2. Correct the graitec2010.dat and replace “this_host” with your host name in the first row of the license file. For your host name use the computer name (look in Control Panel/System).
3. Copy from patch\x64 (or x86)\Flexnet_Server (2 files) to C:\Program Files (x86)\Graitec\License Server\Bin.
4. Look in your menu (Start/All Programs) and select Graitec/License Server/LMTools. Run it. You will see:



Now you can check one more time in System Settings your host name.

Go to Config Services and select Path to license file. You can point (use browse) to your modified license file or better to copy it in the path you see in second row (C:\Program Files (x86)\Graitec\License Server\License File and only after select it as license instead of the default grtlic.dat. When you search change in the bottom row License Files (*.lic) with License Files (*.dat) and select your license.



Now press browse in the third row (Path to the debug log file) and give a file name.

Your final screen will look as this one.



Press Save Service. Test your server. Go to Server Diags and Perform Diagnostics.



Go to Server Status, Perform Status Enquiry. If you see



(the license is grtlic.dat) go to Start/Stop/ Reread and stop the server. Wait for a while. Start the server and if you see the right license:



Close the application.

5. Install Advance Steel (use welcome.exe).
6. Install SP4.
7. Replace files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Graitec with the 3 files from Patch\x64 (or x86)\Common Files.
8. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Graitec and run LicenseUtility9x86.exe.
Select via server and enter your host name as the sever name and 7621 as a port.

Run the program. See “you license for this program will expire in 321 days” This is for today and will change. If you look in your license file you will see 1-dec-2011 in every feature and this is the date your license will expire.
