I'm part of the "mobilism" community. They have mentioned that part of the way that posts get found so that books get taken down is by new posts in a thread. If people were to edit their posts instead adding a post to the thread it's less likely to get noticed and the book links removed.

Go over to the mobilism ebook section of the forum and look for yourself. Lots of the older links that I would like to download are sadly dead.
